m @TSidez .Tesla is not opening all superchargers for other cars. Tesla can realtime adapt the available to other brands. In the next weeks, Tesla is realising a new software that lock (reserve) a Tesla to a supercharge (based on the final distance and estimated arrival) , as soon the driver select the supercharge destination on the navigation system. The integrated solution into the car that communicate with the supercharger to reserve a stall. The supercharger tells how much you need to charge to reach the next charger, before continue the road, is the other one.

Good video, but some comments from a Highland owner: The car be set that it chooses the driving direction automatically when you press the brake. That works very well. The top buttons are just for cases when the display should not operate. The turning signals are a bit more difficult to get used to, but you get it after a while and in normal condition up to 90° turning it is even better. Bad thing is when you share your car nobody uses the turn signal I open the glovebox only with voice control which works to 100%, The wipers are really bad, an update was just announced. When you press the wiper button in the steering wheel you can directly change the setting with the left knob pushing it right oder left so you dont have to use the touchscreen.

I didn't get the comment about stopping charging without a button. Was he saying its a negative point people outside the car who may not be an owner / operator can't just unplug your car and stop it charging? Surely you wouldn't want someone to be able to do that?
@SusieSmart
@SusieSmart 3 ай бұрын
On most AC chargers, you need to stop the charge at the car end unless you wanna stop it in an app. Once you unplug the charger will then release the cable. You can buy cables which have a little button on them (similar to the supercharger cable) which will stop the charge so you don’t need to worry about releasing it in the car. TBH it wouldn’t bother me having to stop it in the app, especially the Tesla app since it seems to work pretty much 100% of the time.

🚙 In Europe, we need to be able to charge 3 phase 400V AC = 11kW (3x16Amp) or 22kW (3x32Amp) , is this possible via NACS? If not, then I definately don’t want NACS in Europe. 🤠

@@mowcowbellThank you for your answer. 🤠 I understand, that for most purposes 240V 40A (which is less than 10kW) is ok. 🚙 BUT (which is important here) the regulations fx here in Denmark limits the current to max. 16A when your load is on only ONE of our 3 phases (in order to ensure a more equal load on all of the 3 phases, I guess). Hence, if you use 1 phase 240V only, then you get only 3.8kW. When your load is on all 3 phases, you can get fx 32A (or 16A) on each of the 3 phases (depending on the actual electricity installation) and hence (if your car allows 3x32A) you can get 23 kW. Then a 1 hour parking by fx a mall gets your car 23kWh, which is quite nice & useful. Have a nice day. 😎

Didn't mention the LR higher quality audio system. Nor the double paned acoustic glass everywhere for quieter ride. Plus the doors have an extra catch at the bottom where it keeps the door shut even tighter for less noise. The left and right turn signal buttons are just like the stalk. Flip stalk up you go right. So press top button to go right. Bottom button for left. Easy to remember. This car is really much quieter than current model Y. Also the mileage in USA is 346 miles for LR model. Yet for charging to 80% as recommended you get much less. Why is this never talked about?

Owned BEVs for quite a while now…the charging times are of minimal concern. They just work, and with home charging are almost irrelevant. It is almost never that anyone charges from 0-100%. That’s a gas car mindset question. Most days are finished with the car somewhere well above 30% SOC, and I only charge the car to 74% for daily use. Some days it doesn’t get recharged at all. What matters is that it is more convenient and much less expensive than the technology it replaced. Full depth discharges and recharges are extremely rare- even on road trips it doesn’t usually happen.

Presume that as a soft ware update they could adjust the blinker thing for roundabouts i.e. you say press the button as you approach roundabout say to turn right... and you are straight so no issue in locating button... you turn as you go round roundabout... teh car from the location/satnav and steering input could using AI presumably tell where you are and as soon as you steer to come off the left blinker automatically comes on?? Typed this out now so leaving it on.. but seen the flaw in that idea.

@user-jt4fy4od9r 2 ай бұрын
I think you have a good idea and the software already does this to a degree. I would be surprised if it is not an option in the future. In the good old days gearboxes had "pre-selectors" that would allow you to plan for the next gear you wanted! It can certainly operate the indicators if it is using the satnav as it will know where it is directing you to go in the first place. I also remember that Japanese cars had the foible of the indicator stalk on the RIGHT rather than the more traditional LEFT of the steering wheel. I think the best option would have been what was mentioned, left on the left and right on the right of the wheel.

8:12 You reviewers *always* needlessly gripe about on-screen mirror and steering wheel adjustments. Please, in the future, put yourself in the shoes of an actual owner. How often does an actual owner change their wing mirror and steering wheel settings? Answer: Once, ever, for the lifetime of the car. It simply does not matter that there are no hard buttons for these two configuration options because they're set once and never used again. Because you are car reviewers, you seem to share cars between dozens of employees (and you apparently don't set up Tesla driver profiles, so your ergonomic settings aren't loaded when you unlock the car). As a result, you have to fuss with these settings more than once. But no actual owners suffer the same.

This is how to solve problems with turn signals position. There is a line sticking out in between the left and right signal. Top right signal and button left signal. I test drove for 30 mins and I didn’t have a problem ones I pictured it this way. 1. Feel for the line sticking out and choose left or right without looking. 2. Depending on where your hand position to make decision. When left hand is on the top of the T bar the right signal comes first, then the line that sticks out, then the left turn signal and vice versa. You don’t have to look!

Sets the standard for efficiency? He discusses efficiency and range pretty thoroughly in the first 5 minutes, also tesla is known to have used a favorable EPA cycle to generate its range numbers so the 2017-2023 range figures are always different than advertised figures.
@0ooTheMAXXoo0
@0ooTheMAXXoo0 2 ай бұрын
@@dabulls1gCar makers do not get to choose between different EPA cycles. They all have to meet the same standards. Default driving mode has to be used. The whole battery has to be used. Many cars do not use the most efficient mode as default while Tesla does. EPA publishes numbers for three cycles per vehicle: City MPGe, Highway MPGe, and combined MPGe... Why Teslas tend to EPA test higher than actual 70mph tests: Tesla uses a large buffer below estimated zero, helps drivers have a larger margin before actually running out of juice, but EPA tests uses battery until dead. Tesla has very good efficiency in city cycle as compared to other EVs so the combined average will be better than the highway speed estimate. Being more efficient is a plus for drivers, but it throws off the combined average, which no one has to reference, BTW... We could all use city range and highway range EPA numbers instead of the nonsensical "combined" number that will always be wrong both for city and for highway depending on where the car is more efficient... Look at the cybertruck range estimates, the highway EPA (which is 65mph) is not too far from what people are getting when testing at 70mph highway testing, the difference is what you would expect going 70 instead of 65 in a not very aerodynamic vehicle. A brick like a pickup truck will get way better efficiency at slow speeds, the aerodynamics making a huge difference at higher speeds, so the combined average should not be expected to anywhere near the highway numbers...

The charge port release button that was mentioned in the video should not be place on outside of the car. Some people simply just unplug as they pass by because of some unknown reasons and some just steal the cable. What Tesla has done is the right way in terms of security. Also many many reviewers including this channel doesn't really talk about the security of Tesla. The owners can set a Pin to drive or Pin to open the glove box so in case of break in or car theft, they can't just drive it away without the pin. The reviewers need to refresh their point of view from the traditional car reviewing to more tech and feature focused reviews when it comes to the high tech cars. A review without knowing the features of a car is not so much helpful for the viewers.

@@cooperthibault279 Crazy expansive because fossil fuels are so wasteful. You use 10x the energy you get to make and transport the stuff only to burn it to generate motion which wastes another 75% of the energy. Also, you need just about as much electricity per mile in a gas car as in an EV due to electricity needs to refine gasoline... You plug in an EV wherever you park to shop, to work, on the street, at home... Only when roadtripping do you care about charging speeds and curves, and all that stuff is worked out by whatever mapping app you use. Bjorn Nyland does 1000km highway speed drives in many EVs. Several do it in 10hrs or less, so averaging 100kph or more including all stops for charging... Often he has to hurry to get bathroom time or to buy some food because the charging is so quick...

Raising the price of the MSRP to points a middle class couldn’t afford. Not to mention what happens to these batteries when they are junk? They cannot be reused or recycled. Do you _really_ want your passengers to look down there on a long drive to watch videos on that tiny screen? They'll be sick if there's more than one curve on the road. They'll have a much better time watching a movie on an iPad or even a phone in their hands, where they control the motions. It might be okay, if they have to sit back there during a charging session, but even then, I'd personally rather use an iPad. It's definitely a "they didn't think whether they actually should put in that"-feature.

Why are reviewers always comparing the long range version to the other cars. They cost more and are not the actual competitor to these cars. Its apples and oranges. The M3 long range is 8k euros more expensive than the BYD Seal. Whilst the base model is 1K cheaper (only if you choose a white paintjob though, otherwise its as expensive or even more expensive). And I'm sorry to say but you just get a lot more car with the BYD. Trying so hard to make the Tesla look good on paper but the reality is that you actually get less for your money in many facets if you compare the base model to the likes of a BYD seal design. I'm not saying the Tesla is bad by any means but I wouldn't be surprised if you're all being paid by Tesla to promote them.

The left& right indicator buttons actually placing them...left and right is SO OBVIOUS yet the designers at Tesla couldnt figure it out. Also, changing gears through the screen, come on now. There are a ton of alternatives to a stalk, look at NIO for an elegant gear selector solution. Looking forward to the planned EU regulations for actual buttons for basic functionality. Hopefully Tesla comes to their senses in next years update.

For those having issues with the relative placement of indicator buttons... don't go looking for some complicated logic, it is still the same intuitive way as with stalks... the correct indicator button is in the direction of you turning the wheel. Meaning Right is on the top, because you turn the steering wheel clockwise - "to the right". The same applies for those "roundabout doomsayers"... just press the button that is in the direction of you turning the wheel. Which is actually more intuitive than those supercar indicator buttons because once they are each at the opposite side of the wheel, there is no logic to which one should you press that is independent from the wheel orientation.
