So a less expensive “version” of the "Real Avid Master Gun Vise". I do like the metal arca jaws on this one unlike my "Real Avid Vise".

When you tighten the "swivel clamp" or whatever they're calling it, does it lock down tight enough to perform tasks like torquing an AR barrel nut?
@Ultimatereloader7 ай бұрын
I did not try that! I'm thinking a regular fixed vise is best for torqueing barrels, barrel nuts, etc.
@georgewalker55697 ай бұрын
@Ultimatereloader my assumption as well. I'm building a sort of "mobile smithing bench" for my property and have been looking at different vices. This looks perfect for anything but those types of tasks. Any chance you could try and follow up?
@georgewalker55697 ай бұрын
@Ultimatereloader even torquing muzzle devices for suppressors would be a good test. I'm guessing it would be fine for that, but maybe struggle with barrel nuts.

Have a Tipton Ultra with legs so versatile, but it’s not a barrel vise. Been looking at similar style vises to the 360 and you may have made up my mind …..so let me ask, “if you were to own just one barrel vise, would you recommend the 360?” Getting ready to ‘pull the trigger’ (pun) on one. TIA.

@jeffb.30527 ай бұрын
@@joemass1023 yes I have, many times. Maybe you should work on your reading and/or listening skills? His reviews are not unlike anyone else's, someone sends him something and he goes through it. Obviously he's not doing it out of the goodness of his heart, nobody does. If a person believes everything someone says, they are probably going to end up with a bridge at some point. I watch to see it, get the info and I just ignore any biased stuff either way, I can take the info and decide for myself if I want to try something. Kinda like I can decide for myself if you are genuine or just another hack hating on tubers. Pretty sure it's the latter.

114$ at Optic Planet.. until the prices come down more, my desk vise will have to work. it looks good, has great options..but it just needs to be under 75$., now, if someone will invent a block that will hold down the comression springfor a charging handle upgrade...to replace the upgrade the handle..

Stanley and maxman make competing vices similar to this, the real avid, and IQ vice, however WITHOUT the extras that would be nice for gun work, but those two sell theirs for less than $50 and all being from China there's no way the extras cost more than another $25. These that cost over $100 are just ripping off those that have more money and willing to overspend for goods.
