A lot of people I've seen online will complain about these tires but I have been blown away by their performance and how smooth the ride is. They stick so well in all conditions and have an 80,000 mile warranty. I'm only had him a few thousand so I'm not sure how to hold up but I've been extremely impressed by them on a truck.

I put these tires on my 2019 ram 1500 Laramie. They replaced a crappy set of Pirelli Scorpion Verde's. Rotating them every 5000 miles, tons of highway driving and I had zero complaints. 30,000 miles before I traded the truck in. I'd buy them again

I had this tires for 2 years and about 20k miles. They are on a 2022 Toyota Highlander and are down to the wear bars. I live in Florida and when it rains and I do a turn the truck losses traction. The truck has always been serviced at the Toyota dealership and hasn't had any issues with alignment, I don't recommend this tires.

If you take 5+ lbs psi out of the tire it will ride softer and more comfortable. My tire max psi is 48psi but at that pressure the ride is very harsh. So I am down to 42 psi warm and thinking about going to 40 psi warm. I am not racing around the round-a-bouts and throwing my RX 350 through tight corners either. But tire pressure can have a big impact on comfort if you want to go over the bumps a bit softer.

I only got 40k out of these in 235-55-18 size. They was quite,comfortable,good wet/dry traction but didn’t handle as well as my Goodyear comfortred’s that were anything but comfortable or quite.

3db is doubling the sound- example: 63db is twice as loud as 60db, so for every 3db of sound loss, sound is halved.

How do you like the tires after almost a year with them? How have they worn so far? These are on my short list of tires. We mainly do around town driving and some weekend trips....we live in upstate NY so run dedicated winter tires in the winter months. So these would be on the vehicle 6 months or so per year before changing out. Thanks!

First I’m hearing of the cayenne, hope you like it. Would like to hear your thoughts after going Range Rover - Trucks - Cayenne. I remember you being disappointed in the Range Rover mostly due to wheelbase. How’s the Cayenne compare while towing? We have very similar use cases, but I have two small kids in huge car seats so I settled on a 2013 GL diesel for space. Interestingly it also has 19s stock and I’m in the exact same conundrum as you. Wanting ATs for look, or maybe even changing wheels to 21s for sportier performance. Looking forward to your updates.

Hey Rob! Need to do a bigger Cayenne video whenever I have a free minute (hah) - it came to me last June and actually does a remarkably good job with the enclosed trailer. The L322 Range Rover had a few downsides that all combined to make it a lousy tow vehicle for this big of a trailer - namely, suspension tuning plus wheelbase. The Porsche is quite stiff and has wide tires which both help. Wheelbase is similar between the two, though the Cayenne is a touch longer (barely). The GL should do well with towing! It's Tahoe-like in wheelbase which helps a TON. For best towing performance, keep the 19s and put a good highway tire on them. All-terrains will have the looks but not as ideal performance, going to a 21" wheel with less sidewall will impact ride quality and, potentially, load carrying.

Debating between this tire and the Conti ExtremeContract DWS06+
@alanf53512 жыл бұрын
From looking at various online reviews, ratings, etc. It seem the Bridgestone Alexa AS Ultra is better in almost all categories. As a result, it’s on my list. I would like to confirm though that it is made in a country where quality has been better. So hard nowadays as these manufacturers have factories in 2-5 different countries.

How so? Same size tire (and honestly the next version of the tire that was already on the Cayenne before) so unless you're talking about basic tire wear...

I noticed at approx 1 minute mark that you said you were talking with "the Bridgestone people" ... and again just after 2-minute mark. So, you literally only looked at Bridgestone, and they made the decisions about what tires you should get? Is this a sponsored video?
@OutMotorsports Жыл бұрын
Not sponsored! Sponsored content is when money changes hands in exchange for positive promotion of a product. This set of tires was provided to us for review, as Vredestein also did with their Hypertrac (video also on the channel, a while back). Having put some miles on these tires now, they are generally good though the focus is very obviously on comfort and noise levels vs ultimate grip. They are good in the dry but snow/mud traction is only okay.

@@OutMotorsports Thank you for the reply, the update, and for the direct and honest statement of the circumstances. This is reasonable, and I do see the distinction, but I just want to make sure I understand: 1) Bridgestone chose what tires you tried, and you received them at no cost, 2) this video is just of you driving the first three miles on them, in real-time, commenting as you drive, 3) you've continued to use them on your personal vehicle for the last ten months, and (as far as I can tell?) the last two sentences of your reply to me is the only update you've posted on your experiences with them, beyond those first three miles?
@OutMotorsports Жыл бұрын
We worked with Bridgestone to decide which of their tires were most appropriate for the Cayenne's use cases. They had a few models that had recently been updated and despite my wanting to try out a set of all-terrains and do some (mild) off-roading, the Alenza was deemed the best option for stability while towing, which is most important. You're correct, this was a "hey we're trying these out, here's some initial impressions" video which is also highlighted in the video's title. There is of course a need to follow up on how they've performed as miles have been put on 'em, which would've happened by now but the Cayenne was sidelined with some extensive dealer warranty work. It's overdue for a "life with a diesel Cayenne" sort of video in general so the tire update will come as part of that. Given your tone is generally very skeptical, this approach for a product review is pretty standard, be it tires or brakes or other parts. Whole cars that we review are provided by the manufacturers for one week loans, parts are provided and generally not returned given used tires and brakes and suspension etc cannot be provided to someone else and given a fair evaluation. We're under zero obligation to say anything nice/positive given this is all for independent review vs paid marketing.
@MManv84 Жыл бұрын
@@OutMotorsports Thank you once again for your prompt reply. I'm sorry that you interpret my "tone is generally very skeptical'; I was consciously trying to NOT impart any "tone" to my comments, just direct and clear questions (which, to your credit, you have equally directly answered) and an attempt to summarize and state without judgment some factual summary, for you to confirm I am not misunderstanding. Yes, I am very familiar with this kind of review process; I have received a few free products myself under similar circumstances. Your review was helpful to me, and honestly I don't think I've even made a directly critical comment to this point. But if you would like me to, I will now: you could have been more upfront and clear about this circumstance (and also, then I wouldn't have needed to even ask). There is a reason that - to take the most prominent example of this kind of marketing campaign - Amazon automatically marks all of their "Vine"-initiated reviews with a bolded notice at the top of those reviews. They clearly believe the reviews are still helpful (as do I), but they know some readers like to factor in that "metadata" about the review when they read it. Coming from the perhaps opposite philosophy of product reviewing, there is a reason that Consumer reports famously not only doesn't accept free products or even solicitation to review things, but they go out of their way to buy the product just like any consumer would, hiding the fact they are doing so for purpose of review. As you may be aware, there has been at least one academic study that has shown at least some correlation shown between review positivity and whether the product was provided in exchange for the review (it's not necessarily intentional, it may be just human nature), and it doesn't require a study to conclude that when a product is being provided gratis by a corporation as part of a marketing campaign to generate reviews on the internet, that company will tend to give more attentive customer service to that individual. They also presumably have extra care to make sure the products they send meet perhaps higher quality control standards. As I'm sure you know, quality control in cars in autos is not always what it should be. In any case, I have my answers, and I thank you again for your time. I didn't think explaining my own motivations or reasons for asking would be helpful to anyone, but after this last reply I felt compelled to explain them.

@@MManv84 To me it was quite obvious the circumstances in which he received the tire. He obviously has a relationship with Bridgestone, and it was clear to me that they were providing the tires at no cost. It wasn't even a review but an initial impressions video. I find no lack of critical details here. Thought it was a useful video on the reasons why these tires were chosen for his use case.

Ouch. Newer tires should always be quieter and softer - tires harden as they age. Don't know your specific tire load range and size, but XL designation, if available, beefs up the tire strength. My experience proves to me that Michelin seems to express the best engineering prowess. I disagree with your choice.
