I had a dream last night that I got the new album... it was called Echo, the cover was a deep blue and black. It was a record and in my dream i had to find a record player. and when I found one I played it and the record had images on it that moved when it played. I only heard the first song before the dream ended. it was descending, the song was amazing. It was unlike anything I have ever heard.

by the way, prior to FE coming out a month ago I had a dream about meeting Danny and him giving me a listen of a track off the upcoming record. Mind you, I'd stayed off youtube recordings of Invincible and Descending and even the self-titled single track when it was out since I wanted to take the album in as a whole on my first listen. Anyways, so in my dream it's still quite a long ways off before the record came out and I swear I remember hearing the "dream track" from Danny and thinking "holy crap, it sounds almost IDM and the synth work and electronics on it are so trippy". You know the rest: FE comes out, and CCTrip is on it and it sounds almost exactly as I heard it in my dream. Or very close in concept, at least. Another disclaimer (which made it extra exciting for me) is that I didn't really watch many live bootlegs from Tool aside from the vintage ones (my first show I spent a whole year downloading off of my friend's FTP server on my crappy dial-up connection in 2003 was the 2002 San Diego gig with that top side angle and Tomas Haake playing standing roto-toms during Triad/Lateralus) -- which is to say I wasn't really aware of Danny's modular synth/drum solo number he did over the preceding few years. That side of Tool's sound wasn't really ingrained in my brain. So this sort of small pre-cognition dream is totally a highlight of this year for me. And I saw Tool for the first time, had to travel to Prague for that. Tears in my eyes. Love this band and the community.

I'm not buying this "Evolution" thing. If you're as much of a Tool obsessive as I am you'll be somewhat familiar with them stating in an interview that titles are the final part of the process. Considering the fact that Maynard hasn't even written lyrics yet and recording hasn't begun, I highly doubt the album has been titled already.

Here's something trippy to ponder- What exists beyond our universe? My theory is that our universe has been created by another life form from another universe. How this has come to be is that this life form has figured out how to create universes. In theory this can be done by using the building blocks of the universe, which are the particle forces. In 2012 scientists figured out the standard model of physics. My take on this is that the universe is expanding due to the creation of matter / energy. My theory is based on the properties of the Higgs boson. The Higgs boson permeates the entire universe. When other particle forces come into contact with the right frequency they react with the Higgs boson to create matter. The Higgs boson is a positively charged force therefore particles need to act positivley if they are to react with other particles to create more matter. My theory could explain evolution. Overtime species that have many positive relationships get bigger in size. Also, only species that improve their environmetn by increasing ecological wealth avoid extinction. This realisation could cause a significant leap in evolution within humankind. If applied to architecture, all land development would need to increase ecological wealth. Before humans Planet Earth was full of rainforests and much more ecological wealth existed. Because of unsustainable human development much ecological wealth has been destroyed. For example people who have chopped down trees without replacing a tree in it's place. This has caused the size of Planet Earth to decrease. Because of the idea of upcycle architecture humans will begin to develop in a way that increses ecological wealth. This idea is known as prospure. This shift in thinking could become part of human DNA. If people were to only chose to breed with people who were increasing ecological wealth the homo sapian species would be outbred and a new kind of human would emerge called homo prosureus. This would create a situation where humananity could live forever. If humans were to avoid extincion for millions of years, eventually, in theory, it would be likely that humanity will learn the ability to travel to the edge of the universe. During this time it is likely that humanity will figure out how to create a universe. My theory is that beyond the universe is empty space (and many other universes). Empty space represents absolute zero. Absolute zero is complete nothingness. In theory it is impossible to physically connect with absolute nothingness. Therefore it would be virtually impossible to travel to another universe. The only way to get to another universe would be to guess the direction and hope a lazer beam of sorts connects with one. My theory is that gravity doesn't make objects fall, instead it acts as a safety barrier between objects. My theory is that the law of attraction makes objects 'fall'. For example water falls to earth because Earth is such a massive energy source that it attracts the smaller energy particles of water. My theory is that gravity is created when matter is created. This explains why galaxies are moving away from each other, thus the universe is expanding. Therefore, if a new universe was created, it would move away from the universe it came from. So, this would suggest that the lifeform that created our universe must have done so for a reason. I believe this reason was to create new experiences and learn more knowledge and to be entertained. I believe that the lifeform that has created our universe has created many universes, most likely all different. Instead of trying to physically connect with our universe, this lifeform has instead been recording everything that has been happening via a computer-like-system. I believe that everything that has happened has been copied and is stored away in a multi-verse computer system. It could be possible that we could be consciously transported to these multi-verses.

I found it interesting that there were so many synth units in their studio from the photos I'd seen on Adams insta. Could we expect a more industrial or electronic sound that they've developed for their new soundscape? I think one of the reasons why they are taking a longer break for this release, is because they wanted from the outset, to create a new and original sophisticated muse . This takes learning new technologies , techniques, and music theory knowledge. Which is a strenuous and time consuming process for any musician. As a guitarist , at a certain level has their own personal formulas and note patterns that they have accustomed themselves to. To then break your own artistic barriers and think outside your own musical box, even for tool, is going to be difficult.

OMG I cannot wait! But as I'm watching this I got a little sad. Now, I don't mean this in a bad way but, I'm looking at these guys and other legendary bands and they're getting older. Other greats have passed away, like Chris Cornell this past summer. He was yet another one down. And I'm thinking, who will there be when all of these great bands retire, or pass away? Music today sucks!!! Music is not like it use to be and bands aren't like they use to be. A lot of great bands aren't making music like they use to and I get it, you get too old to be flinging your head around on stage and traveling 360 out of 365 days a year. They've paid their dues, paved the way and now they wanna enjoy their lives, money and families. I totally get it. But I can't think of many new bands that can take over and rock it like some of the legends. Do you all get what I mean? Music isn't the same. Bright side, the good stuff will live on though. Even though bands are getting older and settling down, their music lives on!!! Tool=LEGENDS

At this point I’d settle for the instrumental version. I know there is no Tool without Maynard but I’m getting desperate.

Hopefully Metal and rock can ride Tool back to popularity. Hope they come tour again.
