Matt, that 400x would be perfect for you on longer trips for sure.

I'm kinda thinking along those lines. There are so many old highways and backroads here in Utah that the Triumph would be perfect to explore with.

I bought one to haul my wife on the forest service roads. My wife loves it. She said it was comfortable while riding. It rolls right over wash outs and bumps. I believe it will be a good bike for BDR rides. I can hardly tell that she is on the back. It counter balances really nice on sharp, slow turns. Engine breaking is great down hill. I can have it in 2nd gear, going down hill on a dirt, ridge road and basically ideal down between 10 and 15 mph without having to touch the breaks. Up hill, it is quick to respond to gear changes, no lagging at all. It is the best bike I've ever owned. I've had five other bikes, Yamaha and Honda's.

Nice!! Are you still running the stock tires? My wife and I love riding mine as well. She likes how comfortable it is too. I have 4 other bikes parked next to it. They all have their purpose, but I sure do like this Triumph.

Yes, the stock tires performed well on 70 miles of gravel roads and 25 miles of wet, dirt roads, and 50 miles of macadam roads this past weekend.

That is a sharp bike. I traded my Dyna to a Honda SCL500 Scrambler in December. Harley got too heavy for my bad knees. Scrambler suits me so much better for my style of riding.

I've been thinking about picking up one of those just to have a cheap, low maintenance bike that can do some offroad/on road stuff with upgrades occasionally and maybe even teach others to ride on. It looks extremely great for the price point and has potential with some basic upgrades like suspension and crash protection. Sure it's no powerhouse but it seems more than adequate for around town and light offroading. Heck it puts out more power than the CRF300L/KLX300 I was considering, just not as much ground clearance obviously.

I think it would be a great bike to have around! As long as you aren't doing major off road with it, you should be just fine. It has 7.5" ground clearance, which for dirt roads and stuff like that is fine. I think, with the other bikes that I have, I'd take this over the KLX. I am trying to sell my KLX230 to pay for this one! 😂

Was there the other day, and the purple bobber really spoke to me. The 400s seemed nice, but I have the 1200xc, so that seems excessively small

Nice!! Yeah, that might seem like a step down after that bike for sure. The other one that I was looking at was the Scrambler 1200X. They had a new silver model there and I really liked that one!

I almost bought a Trident 660 from them early fall. Decided to wait for these 400s to come out. May trade my little GS in on one.

Hey Matt , just wondering if you got one of these yet ? I've heard a quite a few horror stories about some of the problems they have. I think this bike looks so cool , but not sure about the quality. Let us know and thanks for all the great videos.

Hey David! I do have one and I am uploading a riding video about it right now. I love this bike and it has been a blast so far. I only have 400 miles on it, so it could be too soon to tell, but so far I love it!

Matt, have you ever thought about getting a group of riders on TW200s (or any other bikes) and heading up to Alaska? I live in KY and have driven to AK three times, including in 1976 when 900 miles of the Alaska Hwy was gravel and dust. I would love to ride up there but cannot get anyone local interested in going. I had an internet friend whose channel was "tewster2" and he had great videos of several trips he took from CO to AK, including on a WR250R. You may want to look at some of them. I think he even took the WR all the way up to Deadhorse on the Dalton Highway. Anyways, I really enjoy the videos and hope you have great luck with the Triumph. They are cute but I still love my V-Strom650.

Honestly, I haven't thought of getting a group up there to ride. I am working on getting another group here in September to ride. We had a great turnout last year. That would be a lot of fun, but I also have to work for a living with a wife and kids depending on me so taking that much time off work to do that ride wouldn't work for me right now. But, maybe when I am little more seasoned I can do it.

They are great bikes. I have loved mine. Still in the break in period, but it can still hit 70mph and it is super smooth. I think they're great.

The 400 X looks like a great bike. I wish it came with the blue tank that is on the 400 speed. Maybe they will offer that next year.
