Good to meet you too mate.. are you thinking of doing a tour of your garden?
@fruitmecca62803 жыл бұрын
Been thinking about it. If you're ever my way, you can always pop on over. Not far from Gardenworld.

@@fruitmecca6280 awesome, I'd like to see yor trees! How long have you been establishing your garden for?
@fruitmecca62803 жыл бұрын
Seriously, maybe 5 years. Plodded along until then. Killed my fair share of trees too. Most do. Great hobby though. Been a bit of a prepper as well so that was the main reason to amp things up. Felt we were going in the wrong direction and 2020 is proof of that. Thought it was best to secure an independent food supply.

@@fruitmecca6280 good stuff.. I decided to call my channel urban bounty because I want to eventually upload other local food sources like port phillip bay and bring it home and cook it with ingredients from the garden.

Love that nursery Very large potted trees

Yes and all plants are acclimatised to Melbourne to some extent. I wish I had more space, I'd buyva tree per week lol.. It's kind of a sad feeling that I've run out of room unless I plant out my remaining grass area

Longan looks great, Young Hass loaded already. Cans nursery is the best, but a bit pricey. Great update!

This came across whilst I was searching for bottlebrush? Your oasis looks great, love the way you planted that Dragon fruit, you will have a awesome food Forrest in no time. I'm doing something similar, gardening is so addictive, checking things out on a daily basis, getting hands in the soil, everything, just magic, of course only someone who is into gardening can relate to that :) Will you be leaving those plants in plastic pots for good ? Cheers from the Riverina Nsw

Thanks so much for your comment. I will subscribe to your channel and hope to learn and see what you are doing mate! Cheers

@@UrbanBounty I don't have a channel, but have been gardening a long time. On various places on yt there is always something to learn. You have to check out The weedy gardener, his climate (Nthn Nsw) is similar to yours, he is one of the best on yt, explains & shows everything in detail that everyone gets it. Pls have a look. Cheers

Everything is going really good mate. Somehow I missed this vid then got a notification today Remove all strawberry runners regardless until fruiting is over for more berries, they’ll stop fruiting if runners left in numbers I’m only half way through vid and watching rest once I get all the brats to bed
@UrbanBounty3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and your advice mate.. I'll go through and pluck out any remaining runners tonight.. cheers

Mate everything looks great. I have been inspired to plant strawberries after seeing what you guys can do down there. Those jabos with the leaf damage, are they circular? The leaf cutter bees love jabo leaves, all mine have bits missing, but nothing to severe.
@UrbanBounty3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and great tip about the leaf cutter bees. It makes sense now and I dont mind donating building material for those critters.. That variety of strawberry is chandler and it sends out runners. Because my space is small I wish I went with a clumping variety but during lockdown there wasnt much choice. Thanks again for dropping by..

Hey there , I am wondering if you are interested in joining Shedwars Southern Hemisphere, it is a competition for being self sufficient in food. We are about to close entries so just hoping for some last minute entries. fellow Melbourne gardener here
@UrbanBounty3 жыл бұрын
Hello there, good to meet you. Thanks heaps for the invite. My garden is quite young but next year I will be able to produce plenty more to go towards being self sufficient. This year I will just follow the competition from the sidelines. I'll go and look it up now. Cheers

@@UrbanBounty lol my garden this year is a first year garden in this location, end of the day it is a team competition and not too worried about weight on the table, more in the information gardeners can share to help others grow.
