I have had this model of bow for a month. I use it every day. So light and snappy. Absolutely beautiful. 40lbs at 28", 55lbs at max draw. Like Armin says, the last inch adds a lot. But the bow loves to be shot with short draws as well... Very snappy either way. Not much vibration or hand-shock as long as the arrows are not too light... Right arrow and brace-height and the bow makes little noise.

I just got this bow. I have been shooting primitive flatbows and English longbows for about 5 years. This bow is very different from anything I have ever shot. I love how lightweight and powerful it is. I still like my longer bows, but this is a great addition. I can also travel with it much easier. Thank you for your review!

I got this bow two weeks ago but have not been able to shoot it yet. I have drawn it a few times, and you are exactly right about it drawing smoothly to around 31" then getting heavy. Also, the string is very thin, so I made up some arrows with smaller nocks to fit it. Hopefully I will get to shoot it soon. I bought it because of the longer draw length for such a short bow. The bow bag is beautiful, eh :) . Great review as ever.

Very well done Armin .... I have this bow as well and your assessment is dead on about it. I like the bow very much but my issue with AF is ... I ordered a #45@28 and the bow is #38@28 even though it is labeled at the 45lb weight. (this is the bow mentioned below by Primitve Lifeways) I can understand a couple pounds + or - , but #7 to #8 !! For what it is, it is a fun bow to shoot ... it draws #47@31 ... I like a 50lb. bow at full draw, so it's not far off. The FD curve goes up just as you mentioned beyond the 30" mark ... i would call it a 31" draw bow rather than the advertised 32" I wrapped the string serving up with a second serving for a short distance to build up the nocking point because of the smallish string. Overall i would call it a very fun bow and a good buy for entry level archers ..... just hope you get the weight you want !!?

interesting , in dec 2017 i ordered a bow ,received in 2018, they shipped wrong weight . was labled 25@28 i had ordered 35@28 . i liked the bow but it wasn't what i ordered so i complained . they messaged me it was just mislabled ,it was 35@28 . i made a 17 minute youtube video . demonstrating ,that i know for sure its not 35@28 . they sent me another bow . then i bought and reviewed this one . made videos for them all . despite the negative feelings i felt when they lied , i have had a reasonably good experince with them . i like the 3 bows i have from them . i use them when i teach thumb draw and hanging out with friends . i don't have heavy ones , i wanted 35@28 cause that gives me 41@31 . which is a pleasant shooting weight . the ones i have are entry level fun bows , the rosewood is suposed to be higher quality . and i think it is . but the performance diffrence isnt that diffent . my assesment of this bow is pretty much as armin's is . i compared the rosewood, which is longer, to a kaya windfighter i own , with very close weight on thumb. they stand up to each other well . i give the edge to the rosewood ,though to be fair i have really used the kaya a lot ,over the past 6 years ,until the Af Archery bows arrived this year it was my main bow . so older vs newer ?? cheers

hello Armin . i have this bow and have filmed videos, for it . my experiance dealing with AF Archery ,is what motivated me to make tube videos . i ordered a black glass laminated "turkish" bow , 35@28 ,they shipped 25@28 . its an entry level bow ,i liked it ,but it wasn't what i ordered . so i complained . they messaged me that it is 35@28 ,just mislabled. i made a video showing that i knew for sure it wasnt mislabled . so they sent me another bow . so i made more videos . they they let me know about this one . so i bought it . and made more videos . despite my negative feelings about the lie , my overall experiance with Af Archery has been positive . i broke an earlier bow of theirs ,but the quality diffence between these and that one are dramatic . still entry level,(the rosewood one they sent me is really nice next level up in my view ) and i would like to try the 3k carbon ming yuan they advertise ,its 550.00 cad . with so many bows from them in 2018, my wife would kill me . so i'll wait. should probably follow your advise regarding the grozer and just save my money up and get the higher end bows . cheers

Interesting your early bow broke. I had the same issue. Mine blow up in my face at full draw. They won't warranty it because it was two weeks over a year. They did give me a decent deal on a "new style" one. It is absolutely beautiful and shots well. But I am interested to see how long it lasts. The one I got was the expensive one, but don't know if it is bear paw" or not. Also the strings I've gotten with both bows broke with a month. Mine were 50lbs @ 28"

To be honest i own both of them the assyrian bio and the AF turkish short the grozer assy is one of the best bows in the market for sure but the AF turkish is so close in term of enjoyment for my personal taste with draw length of 28 i am enjoying AF more now this days if you like long draw please save and get the grozer 😀 note that if you are used to very light mass bows the grozer is little heavy compared

Hello from England! Thanks for your videos which are very useful especially for someone like me starting out in archery. I'd like a good asiatic starter bow. I'm thinking an AF bow or an Alibow perhaps. Could you recommend which is better, or if there are others I should be considering? One day I'd quite like a Hunnish style bow since apparently I may have had Eastern Hunnish ancestors on one side. Is there a decent starter Hunnish bow? If not I'll go for any Asiatic I think..

Hi Armin, I’m a little confused about carbon arrows; would 500 spine carbon, 31 inch arrows be suitable for this bow in 35# draw weight? Also, would going from 28# draw weight to 40# be too much of a leap? I appreciate your time to answer (if you choose to ;)

Hello, I hope you can help! I just put together my AF archery turkish laminated bow. The issue I'm having is that the string keeps flying off. I have a brace height of 17cm. With the bow strung I don't see any twist on the limbs. When I draw and ease off the string (no release) the bottom string begins to get off set. The string will stay on for 3 releases and then fly forward off the bow. Any help or advice would be great!

Hi Armin, is it possible to use the Gold Tip Traditional shafts made out of carbon with 32“ length and 8.6 GPI = 275 gn ? AF says 0.6 multiplied with the bow poundage but do they mean at 28“ (0.6*30“= 18g = 278 gn) Or do I have have to measure the draw weight at my draw length and multiply this with 0.6 ? Thx a lot

Armin, I have this exact same bow, bought it this year. One time while shooting several rounds of arrows, all of a sudden the string came off after an arrow was shot. I have emailed AF archery to inform them, and they replied back, but so far no explanation. I have been hesitant to use the bow since then...when you lose a string after a full draw shot it is pretty dynamic. Any thoughts?
@ArminHirmer4 жыл бұрын
Hi. Maybe braceheight too low? Or you held the bow too tight. Hard to say
@MVS77MVS4 жыл бұрын
@@ArminHirmer Thank you for taking the time to respond. You are correct, it is very difficult to determine, especially when you look at the mechanics of the bow, and the way the string sets in the notches at the end of each limb. It only happened one time, but I have been reluctant to shoot this bow much, because of that. It almost seems as though the string should set deeper into the notch...there is not much real estate there, where the string sets.
