to see the whole bridge slide in like that, impressive planning and organization, plus hard work on the ground.

Not just the bridge deck. Add the abutments and wing walls and then slide in. How efficient is this? Impressive!

Hard to think the type of equipment that they use there was predicted in Thunderbirds over 50 years ago. This type of technology is impressive

Shame they didn't use the method at Gypsy Patch Lane, Filton near Bristol, the road has been closed for over 18 months and it's still nowhere near completion.

Very good. But ,a polite question. Why wasn't this done initially, when the Oxford- BIV- MYB was rebuilt/a few years ago? Surely, better than shutting the line.
@zamnodorszk78983 жыл бұрын
Cheaper to shut the line now that fewer people are using trains every day.

Like any other major project to do with rail they’ll think of closing it just after they built it

So, with dirt magic, how do they ensure that the dirt they threw against the abutments doesn't subside over time?

Yes got a few of these brick arch bridges and viaducts in the area, it is impressive what they did back then as is the progress shown in the video

O K impressive stuff. However feel overall , the amount of up to date infomation on this rail link is pretty miserly. Same goes for HS2.

Great work. But, when is NR going to do something about the vegetation infestation? The powerful roots of the Buddlia plant are ripping the brickwork of bridges viaducts and supporting walls too pieces. Delaying this work will result in massive costs in the future, also the risk of a fall on the running lines. The network is littered with disused lines and other scrap materials. Sell the scrap,use the money to sort the vegetation infestation. When the railways were real private companies every piece of unwanted material was sold to support the bottom line.
