2:14 car tire / 6:16 age correct truck tire pattern (the classic zig zag) Aircraft tires have a really small rim diameter compared to a car/truck/artillery rims. Idea being that the smaller it is, the more the lip of the rubber tire can withstand the immense pressure it is subjected to during touch down. Modern large tires aren't even similar anymore, they are one single piece (akin to a inner tube) to avoid such issues at low pressure (bush planes). 8:15 bottom right, that's likely a fire extinguisher tank. reason being that an oxygen tank wouldn't suffer corrosion on that scale (found circa 1980s oxygen tanks in the Mediterranean with little to no corrosion).
@WW2HistoryHunter5 жыл бұрын

I keep getting closer and closer to my I pad screen trying to take everything in. I know it’s easier said than done but when you get excited and things start not going the way you want, just stop compose yourself , then make a plan on what you need to do. Am sure it’s a challenge to operate the ROV with the current and obstacles you have to work around. Your doing a great job and I know it’s hard but try not to get to excited. The videos from the ROV are really clear and good. Be sure when you go back you check out the other items you saw. I really love these underwater explorations.

The Stick grenade at 11:51 looks like it's missing it's explosive filling and most of the fuse components seem to be missing so if you brought your magnets you could probably fish it out safely provided it's not to deep but I'd probably examine the head of the grenade very carefully just incase I'm mistaken. Also the little ball next to the weird bottle had something written on it the letters above the silt seem to read "ANG" and the styling of the N looked like German Kurrent so it could be something interesting.
@strigon_15866 жыл бұрын
The reason I think the explosive is missing is due to the fracture at the top of the head and the way the silt and sand has flown into the cavity It looks like a Model 1915 Stielhandgranate since it doesn't have the ridge where the head connects to the shaft of the Grenade. Since this grenade uses Ammonal and in later models Trinitrotoluene the explosive if it has indeed been exposed to the water has probably been neutralized and or mixed with the silt and sand surrounding the grenade making it more unlikely to go off.
