Thanks for the video! I paid attention to your battery state of charge and the autonomy readings and they show that your max autonomy should be around 375km. If that is true, your BMW has lost around 15% off battery charge during the first year. Obviously I’m wrong. Could you explain it?

I hardly ever get more than 350-370 km range. It has been the same since the car was new. After feedback from several other owners it seams that the range is much worse in the first delivered cars than the newer ones. Probably production problems with battery, motors or other components in the drive train. The range in my car is really disappointing.

@@swede-365it takes driving history into account too: since i've been driving with bicycles on a rear rack it's cut back its range prediction for me to be about the same...maybe the early customer numbers seem worse because you did more winter driving and its estimates are more pessimistic.

​@@swede-365Actually I think the efficiency od the car is ok, about 20% less than Tesla 3 LR. In the summer on a 12 km trip, 50m downhill, I'm getting constantly 10 kWh/100 km, 16 kWh/100 km in the opposite direction. My car is Dec. 2022, 17 inch wheels.

Depends on your charging structure. I charge over night at only 3,6 kW which gives me a full charge almost every time and fast charge on the go so I have no need for it.

We don’t get any of these features in Australia. I just see the old menu despite having updated the app and the car is the latest version. Typical for us, always behind.

I think so but probably based on your driving and use of the car.

So it doesn’t have to go to the garage for an oil change every 15000 km like with the combustion engines, right?

I haven’t gone through the service plan in detail but brake fluid etc must be changed but I don’t know the intervals.

one more thing: even with the new app I still can't turn on preconditioning unless the car is plugged into a charger - I get. "something went wrong" message which is the exact text returned from the BMW web service. Do you see this?

No it works most of the time but sometimes I also get this message.

My Ix1 is exactly the same…once the car goes to sleep all connectivity is lost. I even parked up right next to a cell tower - didn’t make any difference 😢

Thank you Sven … an excellent video. Always so quickly done and so informative. I’m having similar problems with my app in that I am unable to use my mobile phone to open or close the car and I'm not able to remotely activate the amount of air/cooling system (fan symbol). I contacted BMW who suggested updating the car apps and services and deleting and reinstalling iPhone app. I did both and still nothing worked and they have now stopped answering any emails. It doesn’t work when the car is hooked up for power either. I’m taking my iX1 into the dealer for them look at it. I'm unimpressed with BMW Connect.

@@robstacyI'm chasing this up with BMW; I think the car head unit is going to sleep when it shouldn't and am doing some experiments as to "how long after a charge will it continue to listen". BMW told me how to reset the computer: press and hold the volume control button in the central area for 30s. Makes no difference for me
