Montana here, on the first night there was pale white streaks from North to South, it filled the sky... and not much since. On the upside you can read news print on a moonless night with no street lights until it gets really dark usually after midnight.

I live in new orleans and i could of sworn i saw them the other night, and hearing that you could see them in san Antonio makes me think i was right. Used to work in North Dakota, when life was good on the pipeline, and it looked very similar to what ive seen up there. Wild

When I lived in Alaska, we always saw them. However, pink and purple were more rare. We saw a lot of white and green, typically. This show is a treat!! ❤️

First time I seen it was January 21st of this year here in Vegas I got good pics n the dark gray cloud seemed so close u could touch it. The colors were beautiful I didn't know wat was happening til I watched the news the NXT morning it's definitely a sight too see. My son n I thought the world was ending it was crazy.

Crazy that people are seeing them so far south i love it. We are here in northwest Wyoming and it is amazing even tonight. I sure hope that my beautiful daughter in Texas got to see them. Because she first saw them in the upper Green River in 96. Powder River Let'R Buck Go Pokes. From our family owned ranch.

Lol 😆 aurora borealis is only seen from the earth's magnetic field blocking highly charged plasma from the sun during a magnetic event called a CME coronal mass ejection. The earth's magnetic nickel and iron core creates a dipole that allows plasma to travel along the B field around and behind the earth rather than to our faces.

No it not "normal" for people to be seeing aurora in Texas. The Earth's magnetic field is weakening and now when the Sun flares it is impacting Earth in much more serious ways. Just because one part of the planet experiences aurora regularly doesn't mean the same for other parts of the world.

it is the northern lights you normally don't see them that far south, but in this case they were visible because of the strength of the geomagnetic storm for example, the geomagnetic storm in 1859 was so strong that you could see the aurora as far south as the caribbean
