Practical Rain Rituals waters up to 6 farmtiles near Wickerbottom and Lux Aeterna aswell as Lux Aeterna Redux produce „Natural Light“ wich allows crops to grow at night. I‘ve also realised that inside a bookshelf, Lux Aeterna Redux regenerates its uses faster than the created lightsource is up, therefore creating an infinite lightsource as long as you refresh it about every 2-3 days.

I know the main focus of this update is Wickerbotom but can we take a moment to reaslise how good are the Wortox changes. Wortox was already fast but now he can cover twice the distance with the same amount of souls + plus he can teleport anywhere on the map.

minor corrections, the Lux books create a light that lasts a pretty reasonable time, and the upgraded version makes the duration even longer. the Grumble Bees summoned by Apicultural Notes book will be hijacked by Queen Bee and then all of your minions will turn on you, so no go for starting a coup on Bee Queen. The Everything Encyclopedia doesn't do anything else, it just instantly unlocks every recipe for Alchemy Engine, Magic tier 1, and other box standard recipes.

I mention the light lasting half a day for the normal book and it is reasonably assumed the upgraded version would be better without having to say so, although I did say that the light was bigger. I've been made aware of the grumble bee thing but I'm also not sure how that's a correction?😅 I was just teasing a potential video of how cool it would be to see if and when we did it. And once again, how is the third point a correction? That's more of a confirmation given it says exactly what I said in the video.

I would change a little in Wickerbottom rework. For example few of her books: 1.Lunar Grimoire - Create Meteor Shower that can be mine to get Moon rock instead because we already have changing night into full moon night at return of them: eye of the storm update 2. Overcoming Arachnofobia - it makes one of the three things below: A) If there spider den nearby, this book will level up all spider dent around by 1 level per use. If used on level 3 spider dent, it will summon spider queen. B) If there's no spider dent nearby, creates one level 1 spider dent C) If there's spider queen nearby, call down spider queen and change her into level 1 spider dent 3. Lex Aeterna/Lex Aeterna Redux - create beam of light that follow wickerbottom. 4, Horticulture, Expanded - Grow up to 20 crops or plants nearby. If there are grow up crops nearby it change them into giant crops instead. 5. History of Ancient Civilizations - Gives access to the Ancient tab, using it to craft item cost this book durability. Crafting: 1x Papyrus, 5x Nightmare Fuel, 2x Thulecite (Can unlock only near Ancient Pseudoscience Station by Wickerbottom) New Ideas coming soon :D

@@jkengland832 it's heavily dependent on her books, which leaves any other aspects of her character kind of flat...and many of these books could be used to troll other players, such as making it rain all the time and draining everyone's sanity, or preventing anyone from ever reaching the new moon, or absolutely terrorizing poor woodie, who loses all of his hunger on nights of the full moon, and may not be able to prepare if someone flippantly decides to make a full moon. The other parts are alright...but ig I just don't think she's any fun, even after the rework?

Been bringing it up a lot, the Lux Aterna books both let crops grow during the night and same may also help to grow crops underground where sunlight doesn't reach

About the bee movie script that wicker bottom can craft the bee queen will steal your grumble bees when you summon her which might eventually get patched out as something to do with the agro but it’s most likely here to stay

to see some much needed controller attention come our ways is nice to hear, i love dont starve but the game makes it VERY CLEAR that it was in no way made to support controller play, i hope for the future they think about sending a healthy QOL change for us. btw beard if you havent played on controller i recommend you do, some characters, items, mechanics and bosses are alot harder or down right impossible with the current system and might make some good content if you've the time ( im looking at you console crab king, non cheese is literally impossible -o _ -o ) additional note: wonder if klay will increase the amount of souls that wortox can carry (something like from 20 to 30 ) to help with the new spending of souls to teleport across the map? i cant imagine that teleporting to the ruins for free runs will be cheap

I’m at vacation and I was like should I get my laptop??? And now I so regret it can’t wait to get back and try her out with moon idol. Not sure about wortox tho being able to tp everywhere then again tell focus and Wanda are available so why not. They srly tho need to give us locks for chests and a way to protect our bases from griefers like a polish like tree jam making structures non flammable and not being able to get hammered or destroyed in general.

I have a few gripes with this rework. It just feels like overloading an already overloaded character. Why can she still craft Science Machine crafts without a Science Machine? Wilson is a scientist and doesn't even have his ability. Why are the books recharged in the library? It's an unnecessary buff to her that she really didn't need. Spamming books is still both extremely easy and while spawning a nightmare creature is great, nightmare creatures, in general, are still a non-issue. I personally think a few nerfs are needed. She's an old lady so reducing her base stats would make sense. Removing her ability to craft anything blocked by the Science Machine without a Science Machine would also make sense as Wilson doesn't even have this ability. They should add more weaknesses to her such as maybe dealing less damage or taking more damage or the more unique nerf of giving her the nearsighted effect that Wagstaff has.

@@TheBeard777 It's kind of strange, but I guess it's because of the Wolfgang rework. They nerfed him initially to knock his power level down and people didn't like it, so they slowly buffed Wolfgang to around the same spot he was in, rendering nerfing him completely pointless. Perhaps they thought that people were mad about the fact that he was nerfed in general, when in reality, people were mad at the way he was nerfed. I understand that character balance isn't super necessary or at least not as important as the enjoyment of playing that character when it comes to the game (Wanda literally exists in the state that she is in) but it just feels a little disappointing. The past few reworks while fun have felt like adding and adding more things to these characters instead of actually changing their abilities in interesting ways.

As a Wickerbottom main I'm hyped. I think the bookshelf is a little underpowered at the moment, for how quickly books drain durability the amount it repairs them for is nothing to write home about, I can really only see this being worth it if you craft several books and change them out, which kinda defeats the purpose of saving resources by recharging them. That being said the lunar grimoire is incredibly OP, the amount of utility this brings to the table for just two moon rocks is kinda ridiculous, I think it would be fair if it took something like moon glass

Alright I’m maining wickerbottom now Also I think it’s fine for some books to be not the amazing. They don’t all need to shatter the sky. They’ll have their unique uses. Personally, I’m glad she’s not overly complicated like some of the other reworks we’ve had.

I think the web one should make her walk normal speed on all spider webs as well as making spiders slow on their own webs as an addition. The lux’s should both not allow nightmare creatures to enter which would create a kind of safe zone if you are farming. The better horticulture book should grow 20 crops The Silviculture and more expensive horticulture book should both be put together with more ingredients to make the ultimate guide to plant knowledge. It should grow everything on screen to full and have 2 uses. Each use should take away 50 sanity. Wickerbottom should have dementia and forget what she crafted 20 days after crafting it.

Pfft, the last bit is kind of funny actually although nothing really gives off the impression that she is forgetful. In fact, it's pretty much the opposite given how much she reads and writes! I do agree that there should be an ultimate crop book that works just like how Applied Horticulture did back in the day though.

Honestly Wickerbottom's books are so useful that she should probably have a reduction to her damage like Wendy does plus she's an elderly librarian it's a little weird that she hits as hard as most other characters.

@@TheBeard777 Yeah like her "downsides" are really mild when compared to other characters in comparison to her benefits, like sleeping is either inconvenient or not very useful and you really never keep food for long really just making and using it when you need it, again I think a damage reduction along with maybe even lower hunger and health to make her need to eat more frequently and make her risky to use in direct battle would be good for balancing her incredible boons.

I was never one for following a meta or a tierlist but after hearing all the rage about her being one of the strongest 3 characters in this game, this pretty much just looks like a straight buff than a rework which I honestly don't understand More books which can be reused more often with reduced costs, because once you make a book you'll never have to make it again if you're smart with your books and just don't use the last charge Can't be put to sleep which was one of her two downsides... Not that sleep is a massive boon to have on other characters to begin with but making her immune to it seems a bit much. Makes picking her seem more beneficial since knowledgeable players hardly use tents since food exists, and sleep is more often used as a debuff in PvP rather than a buff And the fact that they try to balance this out simply by reducing her max health as if that makes much of a difference? 125 isn't nearly low enough for all the benefits she gets, with the addition that her other downside - eating spoiled food - does essentially nothing Klei did such a great job shaking up the "meta" characters mechanics like with WX and Wolfgang, but with Wickerbottom it genuinely just seems like a flat improvement with no actual changes to how she's played which to me is baffling Love the stuff they added for Wortox though, now THAT'S cool
