I went with the big house first strategy, rather than multiple small houses. The extra 4hr cd teleports seem nice, but if you empty your inventory before fast traveling, it will only run you about 50 Azoth per fast travel. Losing the extra 10 trophies is the biggest disadvantage. Since you get a 50% discount on your first house, you save 10K gold by purchasing the big house first. I put my big house in Everfall, as it had the most active trading post. I can teleport there with a full inventory after expeditions or farming runs. The big house nets you 4 storage chests, so that settlement will have up to 1,600 extra storage weight. The extra storage has been huge for me! I can do everything in 1 town, while most of my friends are running into storage problems and are having to constantly fast travel between multiple towns to manage all the weight.

I am going with an expensive house in Windsward, and one cheap house each in Reavers Fen and Ebonscale Reach. With those three you have a triangle of settlements from which you can easily reach all the other areas with minimal azoth cost. I chose Windsward as my main settlement because of the location (mentioned above) and three other reasons: - has the highest traffic of all settlements on my server (=upgraded buildings and good trade opportunities) - abundance of basic ressources in close proximity (hemp, raw hide, iron, starmetal, food/vegetables etc.) - controlled by my faction and I like the music :)

The map being all green shows you that the servers are going to be a serious problem with the longevity of the game. I actually think it is important advice to buy an expensive house as your first house, not a cheap one. You get more value from the 50% discount. Get at least a 15K one first (7.5K is what you'll pay) if you don't want to save up for/grind Rep for a 20K one (10K). You don't only save money, but expensive houses are better. They have shorter travel cooldowns which means it is also cheaper to reset their cooldown.

Bought my first house in First Light. It’s a real ez place to gather stuff and I strategically wanted one at the bottom next to cutlass keys.
@qontinuumgaming52093 жыл бұрын
I think this might be the most I have ever disagreed with a guide. In my opinion, buying anything but a T4 house with your first time homebuyer discount is a waste. Sure it cuts the purchase prince in half but the property tax is the bigger issue here. Over time, you will save a ton of gold by cutting one of your T4 tax bills in half. Additionally, storage is incredibly difficult to manage. We do not have the ability to make alts and mule material. Storing stuff in every town is costly in either time, gold (for transfers between faction owned towns) or azoth (porting materials from a storage town to where you plan to craft) so getting T4 houses is basically mandatory. I can see having your second house as a T1 until you can save up for the T4 purchase at full cost but I still think you are better off doing your first time homebuyer as a T4, getting 4 iron storage chests and just saving up for 2 more T4 houses. Last point is Ebonscale Reach is a HORRIBLE design to move around in. Crafting stations are in small batches across different tiers of the town. I would rather put my house in Monarchs Bluff and just spend the 40-ish azoth to port into Ebonscale to do end game content then house recall to my house in MB. The only part I do agree with is your location choice of Brightwood except that should be your T4 purchase with the 50% discount. It is THE best launching point for all of the north zones and excellent gathering routes.

@qontinuumgaming52093 жыл бұрын
@@isaachailstone4771 If that is true, then only 1 point is invalid. The rest is still perfectly valid. In beta, if you abandon your first house, you lose that gold and you do not get access to the 50% discount to apply to a new house. Throwing 2.5k or more gold away just to buy cheap early and upgrade later is bad financial planning. Now unless they changed that between beta and launch and invalidated that point too, I still stand by the rest of my original post. Buy T4, take advantage of as much storage as you can and don't throw your gold in the trash buying lower tiers and then upgrading later.
@qontinuumgaming52093 жыл бұрын
@@suisiders7181 Unsure. I did not see any T4 housing in Reekwater. Doesn't mean it isn't there. I like the jungle hut look. I have not done much content in Reekwater yet so I can't speak on that part either. I think for now I will stick to 1 T4 in Brightwood, 1 in Monarchs Bluff and hold on buying a third until we get more info on the new zones, their location and if any of those will have housing available. If they are all in the far north then 1 house south (MB), 1 in mid (BW) and one in the north somewhere would give the best strategic coverage of the map.

Nice break down; really appreciate these guides. Personally after looking at things I actually decided to have my fist (major) home in Weaver's Fen and not Brightwood because Fen borders and has easy access to the most high level zones directly. I also plan on having a home in Ebonscale and my Inn in Shattered Mountains (those really are best for end game ports), but my third home will probably be in Windsward since that one is at this time is best setup for cooking and all my cooking supplies are there, and it gives quick/easy access to rest of the southern area of the island; the faction I'm in on my server only has one territory at this time so I can't take cheap cross map fast travel into account.

Just looking at this map screams that the Devs had no plans on how to deal with one faction dominating a server and how to fix it. There MUST be a limit on how many new players to a server can join or switch sides.

so if you dont buy in main t5 shop town, like EF or WW, and what if your faction loses the town, now you cant cheap fast travel and you're toast for crafting. also, thoughts on mourningdale over reek? map seems to be expanding north/north west making reek the least valuable (Aside from current endgame) but if you go to WW/EF and then fast travel to reek town w/ azoth from portal farms, that you have from farming for dungeon keys anyways, makes more sense no?

What do you think of these placements? First House T4: Monarch's Bluff (it touches 5 other regions). Second House T1: Weaver's Fen (it touches 6 other regions, including Edengrove and Great Cleave) Third House T1: In the new area when it will be unlocked Inn: Everfall (I will probably relocate it to Shattered Mountain after the new content to "touch" the new areas)

I've been going a slightly different route. My starter home is in Windsward for the ease of crafting (great layout plus fresh water) and the location being both central and neighboring Reekwater. My third will definitely be Ebonscale. But my second... That's the one I'm torn on. I'd like Mourningdale so I can be up north, but I think Restless Shores has stolen my heart. I can't help it but I'm a sucker for aesthetic as much as I am location.

Some of your thoughs a skewed cause you are showing it on a map that your faction owns everything on most servers this wont be the case and your reasons wont work cause the azoth travel cost will be double to triple what you are stating for totaly empty travel and most the time that type of travel will be imposable.

I still think there is value in having a house in one of the starting zones, which is First Light, Monarch's Bluff, Windsward and Everfall. Every crafting material needs lower tier parts, and it's much easier and cheaper to get those lower tiers in the starting zones. It also gives you access to the lower level markets, as materials and items have different desirability in low and high level zones. I don't think having two houses next to each other in terms of adjacent zones is necessarily wise, just house teleport to one and get a cheap azoth portal to the next town over, for when you need to get around for stuff like wars, invasions or to access a trading post. I can understand the argument presented in this video, but there are different approaches and logic to the one presented here. 😃

i agree, I think its good to have a house in one of them for the ability to farm efficiently and get all those low level items you need, Iron, hemp etc

Only just started the vid but do people know you can cool down your house TP with azoth? Alot of the times it's cheaper for me to reset my house timer ( around 50 azoth max for T1 reset ) than it is to actually fast travel, meaning the tier of a house barely matters

In my humble opinion as just some other rando player... yes. If you can afford the property taxes easily of course. The extra storage chests and lower fast travel cooldown are great for your quality of life and Azoth pocketbook. But if extra storage and fast travel aren't high priorities for you and all you want are the trophy buffs, you could do a cheaper one and save your gold.

@DarknEssMGs3 жыл бұрын
Starting zones will always have some trade because they are best for t1-3 mats, and every craft requires previous tier mats. Having a house in brightwood seems like a good idea tho
@psianime3 жыл бұрын
@@DarknEssMGs Brightwood actually has a lot of basic mats and provides T3/T4 refining resources. The only thing missing is the lack of fiber resources from Hemp plants. At 60 you'll be grinding out a lot on level 60+ mobs so you have to take into consideration the proximity of the zones you will be farming end game.

As casual (playing 10-15 hrs/week by) and loving crafting/farming and eventually aiming for end game... What tier house and where should I buy it considering I might not have 2k on taxes weekly in long term, but still needing storage improvements? Thanks
@DarknEssMGs3 жыл бұрын
Youd want the biggest house near where youre gonna farm mats. The logic being if you houl 1tonn of t1 mats you wont be teleporting anywhere and you need massive storage for those already refined mats + a buttload of refining materials like crossweave in the same spot, plus you need as big of a storage buffer which comes with house size. Being near a major trade hub like windsward, everfall and probably blightwood is good, because, lets face it, youll be running out of space no matter the size of your chest, its the buffer that helps a lot. Tl;dr you want a big house near places youre gonna max out encumberance often. Not paying taxes only means you cant use trophies/fast travel, still works as a bank. 2k isnt much of a problem atm, its actually quite easy, i mean on my server it takes about 2.5k iron ore to sell I got mine in cutlass mainly because its my faction territory and its a good spot to farm t3 leather which i think you cant get at all in high lvl zones. Also left of windsward is the best hemp farm. Will probably get a second shack in blightwood and a third wherever.

Crazy how one sided a lot of these servers are, including mine on Locuta NA East. Out of the 51+ company's, Cov has 12, we (Muaraders) have 5, and Syndicate has 4. We try to flip a territory and we get outnumbered 2-1. Cov also owns 80% of the territory. Kind of depressing that this is possible ngl.

First Light, Ebonscale, and Reekwater. Based primarily on the visuals to be honest, but it also means I am within one zone of a home in most areas for azoth-efficiency. Already got my 20k home in FL using my first home discount, but have been blowing about 1000 coin per day on Sandpaper levelling furnishing so keep putting off getting the rest (even 'for now' smalls).
