As one of the people who broke ground on the greataxe in beta, I can tell you that the reap is an amazing ability. The lifesteal itself gives you massive staying power in a 2 or 3v1 in pvp, and most especially in pve. It can allow you to farm pve in idiotic amounts at great speed. Execute (when combined with its trait on armor to give it lifesteal) can give you back an easy 500+ hp on a crit while doing massive damage. Gravity well can also deal massive aoe damage potential when paired, and with its trait can also heal you for an insane amount (1k+ with 4 or 5 enemies inside). Whirlwind is almost never used specifically because you will NEVER get a full rotation out of it, meaning you will never hit its max damage (which is actually pretty high as a 300% or more aoe). The reason for that is that whirlwind has zero grit, meaning its super easy to get knocked out of it. Also, while heavy armor SEEMS like the obvious choice, light armor is actually the better choice if you go the vampiric route because the extra 20% damage will give you a much better staying power over time in pve and most pvp situations as well. A mix of med/light armor that keeps you in the light buffs is best in my experience.

Just putting it out there, the pull ability is really good for catching people just out of range and the spin after is great. The pull crits for 1100 damage when I hit them from behind and the spin afterwards will usually crit too if I got the backstab crit on the pull. If ur having trouble getting the spin off, make sure ur wearing heavy armor cuz ur cc lasts longer. Also get the perk that makes ur pulls last longer

I liked the idea of whirlwind but I tried it grouped up enemy’s and not only the damage is kinda meh but more they can still stagger you out of it. So you group up start it do a few whirls at 50% weapon damage just to get a stagger, then it’s gone wasted and on cd. If they had a perk to make it interruptible would be much better

Yeah I was shocked that there's nothing to prevent your whirlwind from getting interrupted.. really strange design decision. It nerfs that skill so hard

What do you recommend for attribute point distribution? Im using great axe / hatchet should i use all the points on strenght? or mix them with some constitution? Like 2/1 ?

Usually in mmo's for a melee class health and armor are as important as damage dealt. You can't hurt them if You're dead. Depending on how hardcore and in depth the mechanics and hero building options are You will have to find the right balance that works for You. From what I've seen so far the game seems to have a casual feel so that should make the task easier.

Yeah personally I m maxing strength and constitution equally and nothing else but I didn't decided on my Secondary I will prob use hammer for effiency and cc

I do basically 1 to 1. I think my strength right now is like 120 and constitution is maybe 90-100. If you're up in their face you gotta have the pool to take the hits

One word about execute: its amazing! I find myself oneshotting ppl with this skill one they reach 50% health. Its just amazing against bosses or players.

Personally l mostly level via crafting, so I do all of them. But if you dont want to do all profs you want to focus on mining, smelting and weaponsmithing. I would suggest you put in some work wood and leather as they will be used to craft stuff, but you could buy it from trading post instead.

You basically said reap is nearly useless lmao. It's the most broken skill for greataxe. It heals you 30% of the dmg if you trait further down. That's massive.

30% of 800 damage is what? 240 HP? When you have like 5000 HP that's nothing...

Fextralife if you’re hitting for 800 dmg when u have 5k hp that’s sad, no offense. At lvl 20 I’m hitting 800s and I’m around 2k health. That’s a big chunk for me especially because I can use it several times during a fight. Not to mention trap acts as an interrupt for enemy abilities

When you have 5000 hp you should be hitting around 1.5-2k with reap which is 500-600 heal. That’s nothing to sneeze at, and certainly not a reason to overlook it.

You can play pve only if you want. To do pvp, you have to turn on the pvp "flag"
