A lot of my non mmo friends jumped into new world on launch, but I resisted. I wanted to give it a month to see if they were still playing... So I didn't end up getting into at launch. Just bought the game about a month ago due to the recent hype and all the positive changes AGS made since launch. I don't regret it even as a fresh player. Now just have to convince the friends to return!

I think you're being a bit too forgiving calling it a great game and insinuating that it's even close a masterpiece. With all of its issues and severe lack of variety, the game is very much still in a beta phase. But AGS has done a great job thus far and give it another year and it genuinely will be a good game fit for a launch.

I would rather opt out of 2x XP. I am leveling too fast. At least LOTRO offers that pocket item to stop un-even leveling. I don't need to rocket to 60.

As someone who was in practically the exact same boat as you when it comes to new world, ive been having a blast. Im around roughly the same point i quit, currently lvl 30 and my old character is lvl 31, but im like 5 lvls behind on the story. Its insane that what took me roughly 2 weeks at launch I’ve completed in around 4 days. Im excited to see what happens next, i think this game has a lot of potential

They've made a lot of of positive changes since launch, I was one that bailed due to the amount of bugs and exploits after the game's release. I watched another YT video recently that motivated me to fire it up again. The game can still be buggy, one example is the quest tracker frequently disappears, so I'm having to grab wp's online from some that have run the quest(s). Small bug, but also a pita if you're just trying to run quests. Bottom line with this game, they should not have released it a year ago. There was a running joke on the forums that we were the beta testers, which turned out to be true... lol Overall though, worth trying it again for some that might have left due to their poor launch, a lot of adjustments have been made. ESO and FF14 were able to turn things around, with the financial backing this game has, no reason to think this game doesn't have a bright future.
