Here is a video we made using footage from our recording session at Sonic Ranch Studios, Tornillo, Texas. It's more of a home video thing, not a music video.......we just thought these moments and the memories they involve fit this song. SUPER SPECIAL thanks to our wonderful assistant engineer for the session Manuel Calderon (the guy with the tequila), who filmed all the time lapses and a lot of the studio footage.

Honestly this album is the best album I've ever heard. It's the only album I've listened to where I genuinely learn and grow as I get older. I learn new messages, today this song hit me in a way that it never did before. I struggle with fears of letting go and dealing with the fears of not being worth what I want to be worth and this song was an eye opener for me today. I shared this song with my boyfriend and it helped connect us together in a way that we never have before and we've been away from eachother from across the country for about 2 months, it's the first time we've ever been away from each other for a long time for our entire 6 years so it's been a struggle. All I'm trying to say is that I appreciate beach house and their music is much more than music to me. It's a profound experience that grows alongside with me as I get older.

I should clarify: I fully agree with you and I was really talking only about the music part in my comment. At the time of writing my response I was coming off a bit of a wave of self-doubt over whether or not I have what it takes to do this sort of thing properly (which is pretty much par for the course for any aspiring musician), I really just needed an outlet to intellectualise what was on my mind at that point. Being "cool" by anyone else's standard isn't really the reason anyone should want to be an artist. Bowie said it best when he described it as being about trying to create things that could maybe help you understand yourself and feel understood by others better (which is part of the the reason to have a drive to make music or any other art in the first place). So really it's not about being "cool" because you're like someone else, it's about understanding who you are and being authentic to that, if makes any sense at all? I could have admittedly done a better job of explaining that in the original reply!

A cat video disguised as a Beach House video! Or, at least it's definitely BOTH a cat video AND a Beach House video. But hey, I'm a cat person and a Beach House fan, so I love this! I shall count this as first in (hopefully) a series of Beach House's cat connections I've noticed and noted. I am a commercial music major at UTEP and a native El Pasoan. I recently got to tour Sonic Ranch and was amazed by its beauty and serenity. Not long after I opened up Bloom and saw the star on the mountain and was in disbelief. Beach House in El Paso?!!!! Sure enough the band had recorded at Sonic Ranch, just 45 min away from my home. Now I am so excited to know that I'll be seeing one of my favorite bands come April 8th. Happy New Year Beach House and all of you out there!!!
