Never heard of this band before, but I really like their sound .. That punk / post-punk sense of sneering edginess is right up my alley .. There was so much fantastic music of this type around at that time that I am still discovering .. I need a few lifetimes to catch up on it all !. BTW - Do you know the British new wave band The Only Ones, Sue ? .. Their song "Another Girl Another Planet" would be just about my favourite song ever ! .. It definitely has my all-time favourite guitar lead break .. Check out the version on their VEVO channel .. It has the great studio recording sound with a dubbed live performance so you can also see the band .. I consider it a perfect song.

I am with you, Wsyne. There is so much to explore and it still isn't enough becsuse I love this kind of music.. edgy, brooding, sarcastic, witty, with dark melodies and buzzing distorted guitars...such a great genre. I alwayed loved this kind of musin especially at the clubs. No, I haven't them but if they are one of your favourites then I am sure I will love it 😎💜

What a great song Yes tongue in cheek but classic Angst theme of moving to where “ its the place to be “ Put me in mind of a great song by an Irish band called the Blades : Downmarket which talks about not immigrating even though prospect are zero , different sound but same feel “ sorta Jam or Quadraphenia Demics is great song but not #1 Funny thing is Sloan were #2 and maintained that spot and I’m Underwhelmed by them But on a personal note , I got hung up on Lou Reed thing too and had to tell you It Is The Place to Be Patti Smith has some great Keyboards on her tracks Because the Night

Hey Jesse, so glad you liked this one. Had you heard it before? I haven't heard of the Blades but it sounds like their song had a similar theme. I like Lou Reed too so I am with you. I know more of VU's stuff over his solo stuff but the solo stuff I have heard from him is awesome. I will do more of his stuff and yes Patti is fantastic. I will definitely get to her 😁💗

@@playitagainsue i had heard the Demics It is an amazing song it was on a jukebox I frequented The. Blades never made it but like Demics its a classic 45 Other songs on that Jukebox Donosuar Jr : Freak Scene They Might be Giant : Ana Ng Gang of Four : I love a man in a uniform Ciccinone Youth : Into the Groovey I remember it like it was yesterday A1 ( which never changed ) was Animals : We got to get out of this Place Oh and 1 more thing ( open for discussion ) Greatest Canadian Song The Tragically Hip : Ahead by a Century

@jessem470 I love that you remember A1 on the jukebix, haha. I think I love a Man in Uniform is great song...under appreciated I think. I think a lot if Canadians would agree with you in regards to The Hip. They are much loved here. And although, I think Gord Downey, the lead singer, was an amazing guy, I just never liked his voice much. This is almost a blasphemous comment here haha...the band us highly thought of 😁

Gord was a class act That final concert is one of greatest rock events of all time 😢 Canada has such a rich musical heritage Would love for see that 🇨🇦 flying some more

@jessem470 He was a class act! To perform with that stage of brain cancer was unbelievable. I watched it and was so very moved by his strength and courage. ❤️ We do have some amazing talent for sure 🥰
