Hoping to see the blue coat after you make it. Actually *all* the things you make from these fabrics.

Love the fabrics - especially the Liberty Lawn & the Blue Wool. Can't wait to see the coat. Also love the rainbow trim - can just see that on the bottom of a full skirt or on the back of a denium jacket 🙂

So many fun things! Can't wait to see what you make with them. I hope you will do another video (or maybe two) about what you make during the year off-camera.

Yes I will for sure do another off camera video!

Wow great fabric choices, love that rainbow fringe (also like you I would grab it without a clue what to do with it once I got home), purple mushrooms, and pink with rainbow dot wool. This is going to be a fabulous year of projects to come. Can't wait to see you make these creations ❤

Yeah. That bow eyelet kicks and if you can get more you can also dye some.

I really appreciate you being honest about the 'questionable choices' because it's a real thing that happens. No one makes perfect choices at all times, and I've definitly done 'fever dream' purchases that quickly turned into what was i even thinking things.

Yeah we all get like "sparkle fever" and I tend to pick up things I don't need when it happens

Assembly line when you’re making more than one of the same pattern works very well. I’ve done that even using different sizes and slightly different patterns when costuming plays.

But seriously, the pink wool with the rainbow dots!?! Yaaaaas!!! I wish I could wear wool & could afford it! Can NOT wait to see that project!!

The house fabric that you questioned getting is a really pretty fabric and would make a pretty dress. If not enough it could be used as a trim fabric.

There is only enough for a blouse but I still think it should turn out lovely.

Hi Haley Marie. The rainbow fringe would look perfect on a 1920s dress. I love the ketchup/ maple syrup material I would make some kitchen curtains with that one.

All the fabric is awesome. I want to plan a trip to NYC for fabric shopping. I actually grew up in NY but was not a sewist then. I may have to stay with a cousin to save money on a hotel so I can spend it all shopping. 😊

The word you were looking for in reference to the Western style shirt is "wooped". When you want to go overboard with some styling, it's wooped up. Can't wait to see the upcoming creations. I really enjoyed seeing some of the fancy fabrics. I generally lean toward cotton and linen. My sister and I are planning a formal evening gown for her. It helped me think outside of the natural fiber selections I prefer. The pattern is actually waiting in my mailbox! She will wear it if I sew it. I will make a mockup for sure!
@HaleyMarieVintage8 ай бұрын
I don't think I have ever heard that term but it is fun! And good luck on the formal gown, as long as you have the right needles and tools it isn't too much different from sewing other fabric!

Totally get that, I mean I can justify it all I want but I am definitely still consuming a lot more fabric than I'd like. What I will say is I bought these with specific projects in mind, so they should be easy to use!

When you were looking for the other term like cotton sateen did you mean chintz? I may be wrong, but I think cotton sateen and chintz were very similar just sometimes used for different things.

when you do your photoshoots why do you lift the dress in your hand and pull it away from your body? I love jean skirts but the hem always stays folded over when I take it out of the wash. How do I fix this?

Yikes!! Never wash polished/glazed cotton! The glaze will wash off and you'll just have cotton. That happened to me as a child and obviously I'm still traumatized! Of course, it it's not polished cotton but just "plain" cotton sateen, launder to your heart's content. I'd suggest that you snip off a swatch and see how it does in the wash. That fuchsia color is to die for.
@KyraDAVIS-jw6fi8 ай бұрын
How is polished cotton washed then?
@gwenwells36998 ай бұрын
@@KyraDAVIS-jw6fi I suspect it would need to be dry cleaned. Will Google now!

Ok
@HaleyMarieVintage8 ай бұрын
So I had polished cotton from my grandma that we always washed and it turned out okay? I think it depends on how it is polished, whether it is mechanical or chemical. I did a test of this one and it kept its shine when washed!
