The 2024 NBA Draft is officially in the books and the New York Knicks added a total of four players in the first ever two-day NBA Draft. On Day 1 the Knicks selected the French basketball player Pacome Dadiet after trading away their second pick of the day. Day 2 came with a lot of trades but the Knicks ended up selecting Tyler Kolek, Kevin McCullar Jr. and Ariel Hukporti. What grade does the Knicks draft class get? You have to give the first pick an A+ because the Knicks drafted backwards. The kid is a developmental piece that’s 18, but those other picks could be on the opening day roster. This has to do with saving money the Front Office handled business. Those first two in the second round could of gone in the first round

LEON ROSE is a BEAST, totally an A - on draft and offseason. This man has has made the KNICKERBOCKERS legitimate again. Can't wait for the summer league and season. People complain about the 1st round picks, but he got more than i think he even imagined 🤔, got the players he wanted, and needed and didn't hurt the cap. I agree with your assessment on Dadiet. I think there were better choices around that range, but I'm happy to be proven wrong on him. I also agree with Kolek. He was a player I had my eyes on and was hoping he was on the Knick's radar. He's a great passer, really smart, great shooter, and tough as nails. I think he will fit right in. I think we got good value with McCullar Jr at 56 and I like the Josh Hart comparisons with him. He'll have plenty of time to develop with no pressure. I disagree with your grade on Hukporti. I think he deserves at least B, especially considering we got him with the last pick of the draft and to me he looks to be as talented as just about any other center in this draft. Watching him play reminds me of some of our favorite centers from the 90s - he just seems to have an old school style about him and I think we can develop him into a really solid player. Teams were probably just scared off because of his age and he had a bad injury 2 years ago, but he had a solid season in 2024 so I'm all for it. Overall I give this draft a solid A+ considering that we also came away with 3 future 2nd round picks... I don't even remember if you mentioned that at all, but I think you need to factor that in. We came in with 3 picks and we ended up with 4 solid players + 3 more picks. Thats just insane man. Nobody wheels and deals like Leon

B+ all around. All thibs guys who shouldn't have been available as late as they were. Most excited for Kolek, a true A+, exactly what we needed to optimize the second unit. The other 3 are top tier end of the bench guys. One of the benefits of having a solid rotation is that you can afford to draft high floor, low ceiling backups.

I think they are keeping Hartenstein. Which is why they waited until the very end to grab a center. If they were letting Hartenstein go they would’ve went for a higher up top rated center. They selected a backup center which was brilliant considering how Mitch is highly injury prone & Sims is useless.

Kolek is really a 1st rounder that we got in the 2nd. According to espn he was ranked 25 and pacome was ranked 30. He was ranked higher then pacome on most draft boards. would have been happy to draft kolek even with 24/25 pick , so in my mind we got a huuuuge steal!!!

The Blazers traded Malcolm Brogdan and the number 14 pick for Denny Avdija and another first round pick in 2029 and 2 second rounders. And the T Wolves traded up to 8 by trading an unprotected first in 2031 and a pick swap in 2030 Where exactly did either of those teams trade out of the twenties to get a pick in another draft? D, the one wing I hoped we didn’t take was Kevin McCullar. We got the worst big in this draft - Dadiet fine, but if we needed wings much better ones were available. A lot of teams were able to move up like Minnesota - we could’ve done the trade MN did and took edey and ajay Mitchell at 38 , ajay will be a better nba player than Kolek . Reminds me of when MPJ fell an we took Kevin Knox . Terrible draft by the Knicks

You or I don’t scout these guys in detail but the Athletic draft expert had him as the 21st best prospect and said at worst he’s a competent backup point guard but has significant upside from there. What do you expect in round 2?
