Having a bench is great. But on the starting 5, boston wins 4 out of 5 matchups. The matchup you do win, with Brunson over d white or Jrue, that's going to be less than you think with more talent around. The knicks are trying to incorporate over 55ppg into their starting lineup from a ball dominate PG with average distributing skills. Don't get me wrong, it's a good problem to have but it takes monumental sacrifices. Think about all the hate & criticism tatum took for sacrificing. Is Julius ready to sacrifice like that? I've been a Knicks fan for over 35 years and unlike a lot of our fanbase I refuse to evaluate the Knicks through Blue & Orange lenses. Draymond unfortunately is right. All teams build an identity. The identity of this current Knicks roster is gritty & tough. The problem with that is that skill & talent are always going to win out the deeper you get into the postseason. It's a bit head scratching that this Front Office who is now going into Season 5 has NEVER added a dynamic shot creator with athleticism in their tenure. Based off what New Orleans just landed Dejounte Murray for, we could've saved 2 1st Round Draft picks & addressed a bigger need. Mikal is solid, OG is solid, Donte is solid, JHart is solid, McBride is solid...but all of these perimeter players are limited on the ball & are not capable of initiating an offense. Brunson is a great undersized ISO scorer, but a below average playmaker and he does not get easy baskets in the halfcourt being undersized & limited athletically. The Knicks halfcourt offense is still going to be mediocre again in the playoffs.

With the team we have we can bring the celtics to 7 games. But who takes the series will be conditional on which bigs are healthier. I think its going to come down to a number of scenarios If Porzingus is healthy and Robinson is not healthy: Celtics If Porzingus is not healthy and Robinson isnt either: Celtics If Porzingus is not healthy and Robinson is healthy: Knicks The ladder is the most unlikely scenario.

Knicks have a solid core that are all entering their prime. They have a far better roster than 4-5 years ago. There is no comparison to be made there. Worst case we have a ton of valuable pieces and a free agent destination.

Idk if the Knicks will win but the Knicks haven’t done this before. They don’t usually give up a haul to try to win today. Even the Melo trade wasn’t going all in, it was to be relevant. They didn’t have the pieces. Now they feel they have the pieces and added another.

I would like to see how this is going to work for the Knicks being that Julius is so ball-dominant. They did get better tho

1. knicks won't be rebuilding as long as brunson is with us. 2. philly and milwaukee can stay out of this conversation because are not going to beat us. it's going to be us vs boston, period. 3. it can be argued that boston's only advantage in their lineup over ours is porzingis; our 1-4 can EASILY match with their 1-4 and their bench is probably going to be worse than ours. 4. is brunson not a bucket getter? did donte/hart not make some insanely clutch shots throughout the playoffs? Overall, not quite a worse take than when he called us flukes during the pacers series, but still extremely short-sighted for thinking we have zero chance of beating boston.
@WLJ12873 ай бұрын
They have a really good shot to beat Bos and I hope both teams remain fully healthy…unlikely. Though Bos advantage isn’t just KP. JT and JB are better than OG and MB period but NY has a better PG and more proven depth if they can keep them.

Dam Draymond as bad as you hate on my beloved NY Knicks you are 34 years old and you have more Grey hair then me and I'm 56 years old. Try to reverse that Grey because by time you get 44 you might be greyier then Poppa Smurf. 😅

This focus on draft picks is asinine when you’re built to be a competitor. Who gives a shit about these first rounders when you’re picking in the high 20s. The team is built to win, you go for it. Sitting on picks is ridiculous.

Thibs makes players so much better also, especially players like Mikal… his defense will be sooooooooooo good…. There starting line up is insane and every player coming off the bench could start

Not the biggest Draymond fan but I agree with him saying Knicks getting Mikal Bridges won’t get them back to the finals. The Knicks are just simply copycatting the Celtics, but that doesn’t necessarily means they’re going to the finals. I’m sure if they face the Celtics at some point in the playoffs the Celtics knowing they’re using some of their style of play and tactics they will have a counterattack as well. On top of that the Celtics still are the better team all the way around even with these new tweaks the Knicks created.

I’ll be honest Draymond , I believe you truly understand that the Knicks can actually beat your warriors. I understand the way you think is that when you make your analysis you think of it in a way in where you place the Warriors in the finals, and if the Knicks were to matchup against you guys in the finals, and I believe that’s the foundation upon which you make your analysis. But you know as presently constructed if by some miracle the Warriors ever made it back to the finals and the Knicks made it there too, that New York would actually beat you guys.

Brunson and Randle can’t get a bucket on anyone? Especially when Mikal and OG are both top tier C & S players. There will be so much space for Brunson & Julius to operate. Teams can’t hedge off OG & Mikal.
@warlockmagic34163 ай бұрын
Knicks needed to keep Hartenstein so bad.. Dude was putting up incredible numbers.. smdh.. I would have kept IH and traded for Caruso. Robinson is still a very good C. The only problem is he's injured a lot. They should be looking for a strong alternative C. Randle could be a huge help to them this season. I'm not sure who would want Randle and for who.. if they were to consider trying to trade him anyways. Speaking of team's fkn up.. My Pacers fkd up royally when trading for Pascal. Pacers could have had OG, Hartenstein and another 3rd on a minimum. Kept their picks for this draft and 26' 1st.. Traded up to added Kel'el Ware.. then added Terrance Shannon Jr. Something like that. Jamal Shead, or Keshad Johnson. Or traded those into next season to improve that draft. I liked Klintman, or Jaylen Wells as projects. I think you guy's did solid adding Post.. Only a few team's are very smart with their 2nd round draft picks. Pacers have notoriously screwed up on those. Had Pacers not added OG, even though I think they would have if patient. There would have been DeMar DeRozan, or KCP and they could have swung Nembhard for a Caruso and most likely even gotten a 1st from CHI. Keeping themselves full of assets and control over their Cap space is key. Especially being a young developing team they should have been... Now all they did was fk up the team that could have been great in year's to come.. Because now, you've not only fkd yourself of signing like 3 player's to one Pascal.. But you also are losing out on Jarace your 7th overall pick.. Because now you have nowhere to play him... He could have developed into a pretty solid PF. I don't think he's a capable player for any other position at a consistent level. He's too heavy and feet are too slow to switch and guard SF/SG's.. smdh... like how the hell did they not see this.. Could have signed Bridges at PF. Dealt Jarace and gotten picks.. Pascal is an empty stats guy.. dude shoots like 45%fg and 30%3pt shots most often.. never having a consistent, or big game. Doesn't ever draw a double.. teams let him shoot.. Defensive Rating of 121. Despite the fact he can read defense and stay with his man. He fools you into thinking he's that good.. Because despite that, he's not stopping anyone. No blocks or steals and only single digit rebounds.. turns it over a couple time's a game. Never stretches the floor, when he does he's clanking 3's.. Or he will do frustrating bs like spin towards the basket. Shrink himself, fall to the ground and brick a layup. All because the defense only stayed with him. He plays with 0 tenacity at all.. and we already have Turner who doesn't play with tenacity most the time.. so that's a big problem.. I'm about fed up being a Pacers fan fr.. I'm gonna start watching other team's this year for the most part. Try and find a new team to rep.. Followed them my whole life. Getting tried of the cheap azz owner and bad decisions.

It seems to me that most these NBA talking heads are anti-Knicks. And I dont even think its the team they hate. Its moreso the fans, which in turn leads them to talk negative about the Knicks. We can't help that we're this passionate even tho we haven't won in over 50 yrs. Every team should only hope they had a fanbase such as ours

It seems like a habitual Linestepper who apparently loves a little choking at work and taking a lot pto has a moment of lucidity and waist it on musing about what other teams are doing instead of reflecting on himself and his own team. Will Klay work out? Or do you choke your way to a solution? Like you did with Poole? I mean Klay is light skinneded and that seems like a trigger for you.
