Shingles are no match for Big Ring Johnny! For real though, don’t sweat this. You won’t lose any fitness in the week or two it may take to recover, and you’ll still have time to stay sharp for the race. The reality is that 8 weeks out wasn’t enough time to make any substantial gains anyway. These down weeks are perfect to work on things like technique, which you can definitely make improvements on in a short time.
