I just feel that there’s a better way to do it. Instead of just leaving it outside in really hot weather and writing “sorry.” I’ve not seen the whole video yet, but it seems like the owner didn’t leave any backstory or information on the snake. They said in the video that they do take in animals, you just need to contact them. The fact that they didn’t even do that?… Edit: I just watched the video and realised what you meant. My bad!

Preach on, King❣ I have more respect for him than anyone else in the hobby in more than one way. There are a VERY small few that I feel can hang with him on SOME levels, and some that might get there someday if they stay their course, but "daddy Kevin" isn't far from the truth, lol. There aren't many reptile hobby "daddies" still out there, and he's a unique one.💚 These types of NERD vids are my favorite though, when he successfully provides far better and more educated medical treatment to the clearly quite loved animals in his care than most vets could ever hope to provide in these situations. Most importantly to ME, it's important to him that these procedures are not just humane but as painless as possible, so I can actually enjoy watching and learning instead of having to turn it off in a critical rage, hahaha.

When Kevin showed up the whole vibe switched up and went to "ok think... mites, injuries, infections, state of mind, what's this animal thinking, feeling, sensing" It's just incredible the way Kevin will hold a Reptile and that Reptile basically turn to mush, even though it was just aggro in someone else's hands. I'm the same way, that's why my entire house is a zoo at this point. I was at my local reptile shop yesterday that adopts animals out and almost left with a yellow Anaconda someone dropped off, thankfully they want to give it a home at their facility. Saved me a lot of effort concerning a 6 foot fish tank into a snake tank.

They take in animals and there are tons of reasons why they just can’t take care of them anymore. Finically, moving to a new area and family issues can have someone unable to take care of a ball python or any other reptile. The problem here was “how” they got rid of them. These guys are reasonable enough to understand if someone comes to them and gives the reptile to the guys personally knowing it will be taken care of. The original owner/dumbasses just dropped them off without making sure the animal was taken care of. If they didn’t notice the box and snakes on such a hot day, things could have gotten a lot worst.

@@shadowwriter329 TBF, don't most places refuse to let you adopt/buy another animal if you surrender it? My parents had to take a plott hound, whom the MDSPCA said was cat friendly, back after it tried to kill the cat. (Even the two cats that are okay with dogs ended up swatting at it and running away.) Apparently, this same dog had done this twice before, and the MDSPCA has a "three strike" policy: three failed adoptions and the animal is euthanized. (We didn't know this before we surrendered her back to them, granted, they knew she was not cat friendly.) As a result, my parent's are now barred from adopting through the MDSPCA. They got a Lahasa Apso/ Shiz Tzu mix from an online adoption agency, had him for five years until he passed away, and now have a chihuahua (also adopted from the same agency.) Neither of them ever went after the cats.
@NoisyBones
@NoisyBones 2 жыл бұрын
16:58 this is really interesting because chihuahua dogs are often mislabeled as ‘mean’ for the same reasons, they know they’re small and so they often feel threatened and act defensively. People need to be more compassionate to these smaller animals, stop labeling their fear as ‘bad behavior’. I love that when a reptile hisses, snaps or struggles, you guys are always quick to emphasize that it’s never because they’re ‘mean’, just scared or defensive.

My Dears, I have never seen a man like Kevin that is so knowledgeable to explain to us in layman terms all of these animals are just creepers to me .I live in Florida so they're everywhere but by the same token,I am amazed and I hope that people that have these animals watch his shows and not be afraid to call him for any advice because this man is like amazing.I worked in pharmacy so I know what I'm listening to. I mean he is like a doctor and a pharmacist combined and a therapist . That's a big deal, when you have animals that cannot talk to you. I am so amazed of his work and how he explains it and dumbs it down for us. So thank you very much from the bottom of my heart even though I would never own any of these creepers. You are so passionate about your work and you are appreciated and you are amazing and don't forget that. Thank you ! Best, Mary Jane in New Port Richey Florida

Let me get this straight. A random box shows up unannounced with unknown snakes in pillow cases, or whatever sacs, and they are handled in this incredibly reckless manner with a game of guess the snake? This is either contrived or UNBELIEVABLY stupid regardless of how much he/they may know about snakes. For those reasons, I'm out. LOL

I love this channel, the whole store reminds me of Phoenix Herpetological sanctuary because the amount of surrenders there are, for instance at Phoenix Herp they can get up to 5 surrenders each day, it’s honestly so sad how these animals just get perched at pet shops like pet smart only to get tossed away at animal sanctuary’s instead of getting a good home but it’s nice to know that there are people like the people at NERD that take care of these animals. Ever since I found out about these sanctuaries I started to just get my reptiles from them to help support these amazing places and I started volunteering at Phoenix herp for free primarily because I love these animals, and these amazing people who take care of them. For those saying this is fake, it literally happens all the time at rescues. I used to volunteer and people would drop off anything in the middle of the night to get around the surrender fees, or they were too embarrassed. A lot of times it's a sick animal that needs lots of vet care and the person can't afford it. In certain states they have places where you can literally leave your human infant and walk away.

Idk, the way the "sorry" is written with dripping paint leads me to think it's not a real video but perhaps something they put together as a sort of PSA about dropping animals off like this, which does happen. It's just weird, I'm sure another type of wiring utensil would have been way more handy than paint.

I hate that people just abandon their pets outside. Either let them loose or put them in a bin/box to get fried by the heat or freeze to death, depending on the weather conditions. Luckily they left them with you, because you can help them. Probably feeling ashamed for dumping their animals so they did it this way.
