With no insult meant to others who have built a camper in a cargo trailer, this is the smartest and smartest looking conversion that I have ever seen. The kitchen that can be indoors or out, as you please, is incredibly smart AND smooth. It is one of those ideas that, after you see it in action, you wonder why they don’t build all of them that way. Certainly everyone WANTS to do it , but I have never seen it done as if he had built 20 like that and worked out all of the ‘bugs’. The interior looks great, has everything you need and more, it isn’t fussy but is very clean and well built, and it has some extras that would make being stranded for days feel like a vacation. And ALL of that at 1500lbs! A Prius or an Accord can pull up to 2000. Why bother if your suspension can take you way off road but to find a rig that nice that most people could tow with their existing vehicle is the cherry on top. Seriously, the smartest cargo conversion that I have ever seen! Amazing

Accords can only tow 1000 lbs and Prius are rated from 800 lbs in the early models with a maximum of 1598 lbs. Just because you can pull it, doesn't mean you can stop it when needed.
@maobfh3 жыл бұрын
@@DeathAngelHRA - that’s too bad. The 2000 Accord and the 2012 Prius were rated at 2000lbs. Had the Accord modified somewhat to handle a bit more, but not much. I made sure it could stop with the load before I hit the super slab. And made sure it could handle reasonable speeds. And stop. Never tried to pull with the Prius as I have a truck to do that kind of thing since ‘06. Frankly, at my age, it is past time that my children or even my oldest grandson do that kind of thing. But I appreciate your instruction as much of the the younger set have not had the benefit of the instruction that were common knowledge before anyone handed their kids the keys to the car in my youth. My kids would roll their eyes at my rules and why did they have to learn to drive a stick or change a flat tire when we had AAA. Having kids of your own makes you smarter so I only had to listen to their complaints about their difficult childhood for about 30-40 years before they started filling the space between their ears while raising kids of their own. My job now is to corrupt their kids and insure the circle continues.

A Ham radio operator is kind of rare on these tours . I so appreciate the the help you can get yourself or others being a Ham. His small camper has nearly everything a person would need plus a whole lot more. But I didn't notice a shower anywhere. A shower tent with a simple pump sprayer while standing in a small calapsable plastic tub. I can hardly believe that small trailer has so much to offer. Thanks Patrick for this tour and interview.

I'm currently working on a shower and a pooper so then it will be sufficient to live in. I do have 600 watts of solar and 200ah battery, and then I have a reverse osmosis system, so I'm good for the off grid, and so far, everything is working amazing.

I took my first M16A1 a part in 1973, as a USAF Security Policeman. Owned a Colt M16A1 (until the world went weird, and it went to an FFL). I used an Anderson lower in a recent "pistol" build. A SOLGW 10.5-inch barrel, small 6 hole hand guard, a Luth-AR slick side upper, and ACE Essential two position aluminum butt stock/buffer tube. The BCG is an M16A1. To satisfy ATF the muzzle device extends to the minimum length from Griffen. My "surprise " with the Anderson lower was the FCG. Their trigger PPK has zero creep, a consistent 3.5lb pull and crisp reset.much better than standard "mil-spec " (but certainly not Geissele grade). Happy shooting. Obviously, a head/shower inside a 4Runner is out, so I’m considering setting up a small trailer with those, along with a small kitchen and sitting area. This cargo trailer is definitely giving me some ideas, I really like the off-the-grid and self-sustainability design with the power. The 4Runner has a max towing of 5,000 lbs, so the 5x8 or maybe a 10 foot trailer will work wonderfully for my goals without making the v6 struggle in hilly areas for when I venture out of Florida. My wife and I took a 6x10 for a 4800mi trip in Feb...her first real trip in it...now she really likes it. Especially some of those nights when we hit 18deg...she really liked the heat then. Previous years we used a tent...multiple trips in the south and we seen 30deg...or rain for 4days straight...Now she don't care about the extra fuel towing it haha

DUDE is the real deal. Nice work. I'm close to having this set up but gotta get the CB radio situation dialed in. Thanks for sharing.

Well done conversion that has everything that you need. The only thing I would change is to replace the batteries to Lithium, but not until the current batteries died.

What a perfect trailer set up maximizing space and keeping the weight down. The utilization of the truck bed gave me ideas for my wide open b lank slate. Great builds, Vince is very talented.

Artisan Made. Superior! I'm living in and working on the second remodel of our 5×5×10 tiny home on wheels. Had to tear the first build down to studs so I could insulate it. The second build finally has water on demand... AND HEATED! 😄 It's been hard living without water on demand and using a cooktop to heat it.

I've really enjoyed watching these builds. This is what I want for small trips. Wish you were a bit closer to Florida. You brighten my day!

Awesome video, I really like to see trailers converted to campers. Campers have gotten unreasonably expensive. Hope to see more videos like this one!
