I've managed to relactate. Stopped pumping at 9 weeks postpartum due to multiple mastitis. Didn't pump or anything for 6 weeks. Now I have a full supply back 👏 it was hard work but we made it!

How did your milk supply back. I got a very bad case of mastitis that i ended up with an abscess and had to get it drained out. I stoped pumping as often due to pain and now my supply is low. Thanks

@@MariaOliveira-qq7qz I started with every 2 hours during the day and hand expressed after every pump, then moved to 3 hours and 1 motn pump. Now I'm doing every 4 hours and no motn pump and as soon as I've done this I've got a sore boob 😩 I think it's clearing though. I'll be so angry if I get mastitis again

@@carlymcdonald7181how often did you pump during the night? And how long did it take? I’m working so hard to get my full supply back after some tongue tie issues with babe. Seeing slight increase but wondering if it’ll ever get to full again 😅

Do you have a suggestion on what pump to use? I will take the baby with me to work most of the time since I'm self employed, but I have 3 other kids in sports and drive a LOT, so I'm looking for a wearable pump.

Why do some IBCLCs say supply regulates at 6 weeks? Is it 6 or 12?
@NewLittleLifeАй бұрын
It varies, but somewhere in that 6-12 weeks is the most common.

I am a nurse working on a buzy medsurg floor. I have a willow pump so i was pumping and doing my job and when i am done pumping i go back to one person office and put the milk in cold box because i want to pump for full 25 min .because the pumping room is far from my floor.but my manager said i can not use the office anymore so i have to go 2 stairs down, walking long hallway to pump .they didn't specify how long I am allowed to pump. So i am afraid now my milk supply is going to be low because i am not pumping for a full 25 min per session because i dont have time. What is your suggestion? How long am aloud to leave a floor and pump and how often? Please Please answer? It is very important for me.

The law is a little vague on this, it says a “reasonable” break time. You should probably ask what is expected and tell them how long you need to pump. Hopefully that are accommodating!

So I hit regulation the same week we had a house fire and lost everything at the end of May 🙃 we lived in a hotel for two weeks and then traveled for two weeks essentially. I dropped my MOTN at 12 weeks. I went from 40oz per day to now barely making what he eats. I was getting less than he eats when I realize I stopped taking my sunflower lecithin after the fire. I’ve added it back in and the flow is better but I am still a “just enougher” i also have to squeeze and squeeze to get myself to spray. I work full time. Is adding MOTN back for a while better than power pumping? I want to get to 12 months.
@NewLittleLife17 күн бұрын
Oh my word, you’ve been through a lot! I do really like the MOTN pump for increasing supply, as long as it feels sustainable for you. Just enough can also be seen as the “perfect amount” 💙

I had a solid milk supply but just couldn’t keep up with pumping anymore when I was doing it by myself. I went from a solid 1000ml per day to only 550-650. I started pumping regularly again but then my 4month old started teething.. I’m at 650 consistently pumping 5 times and I just have to accept that I have to supplement a bottle or two per day. It took my mom and my husband telling me that it’s not all or nothing for me to accept that pumping more than 5 times per day wasn’t realistic for me
@NewLittleLifeАй бұрын
650ml pumping 5 times a day is awesome! It definitely doesn’t have to be all or nothing, that was wise advice 💙

I’m lucky enough that I don’t have to pump MOTN and still have supply for the morning. Will my storage capacity drop as well? In the morning I’m pumping about 14oz and freezing my excess.

@NewLittleLife24 күн бұрын
14 oz in one pump is not the norm! Definitely an oversupply. 4oz is a very average output, sounds like you’re right on track!

If I spend all that time before regulation pumping properly, doing everything I have to do to keep my supply then, when regulation happens, whats the difference? Will I lose supply if I decide to go down to 7 pumps?6? or will those pumps build up into my next? Example, I pump 5 ounces every time. I drop a pump then next pump it will be 10oz instead? Otherwise I feel I have to pump 8 times no matter what.
@NewLittleLifeАй бұрын
Establishing a solid supply with great pumping practices is your best bet for things working well long term! Sometimes, you won’t notice this shift in your body. Don’t stress too much, just watch and adjust as needed

My supply has increased with me dropping pumps 🤷♀️
@swatisunehaАй бұрын
For me, I did exactly like you mentioned.. worked religiously for 18 weeks! Round the clock... very gradually and methodically dropped pumps from 8-7-6. But when my supply kind of regulated and then I went down to 5 at 19 weeks, I steadily lost supply. Mind you, I added the dropped pump timing to remaining pumps. And still do my MOTN pump. So I guess.. we just have to keep going...😢
