This incredible 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS6 has been hiding since 1978 on a garage lift in central Pennsylvania. A iconic Tuxedo black with white stripes built at the Baltimore, MD assembly plant.

Great to have you back Patrick. I can’t claim to be a big Chevelle guy but I really enjoy your enthusiasm and knowledge of your subject. I’ve watched a load of your videos but my favourite is your rolling burnout leaving a show in your Cranberry red car in the dark. The sound that car makes is just awesome !

I know where a 22000 mile original is in New Mexico, but the original owner doesn't want to be bothered. It is glorious. His discipline in keeping this car correct is unmatched. It doesn't even go to shows. He's unaffected by anything. It's his absolute favorite thing next to his family. I remodeled 3 bathrooms for him in 2009. Saw it then. Pristine. Original tires and spare! 4 speed car. Tricentennial Gold.

I just cant get tired of these old Chevys! I've owned a 70 Malibu 350 4 speed for 18 years and still enjoy driving it every time I take it for a spin!! Thanks for another great video!

You, sir, have uncanny luck! Finding just ONE of these gems in a lifetime is a rare feat. Finding TWO LS-6 Chevelles, just MONTHS apart, and both cars have been napping indoors since the late '70s, tells me you would also probably win the state lottery the next time you purchased a ticket! Big time congratulations on your finds! The 1970 Chevelle has always been my favorite car, ever since I was 4 years old and my older brother owned one. I am now 51 and still haven't owned a 1970 Chevelle SS, just a basket case Malibu about 20 years ago.

I think this is my favorite car you've found. Tuxedo Black 4 sp LS6 hard to top. And really remarkable body. It's amazing to me how many LS6s you find and how, even though they have been modified significantly over the decades, they remain largely intact. Even in the day, it seems like people knew these were going to be a big deal 52 years later. My date-coded-tire-air ocd mid-yearCorvette restoration obsession is greatly rewarded with your insistence on assembly line accuracy. Thanks for the memories.

In 1972 a friend from high school, after a bet two get straight A's in his last report card father bought his son a brand new LS 6 with 454 Holly 4 barrel cowl induction Hurst shift the works. One early summer day he took the challenge to race a mutual friend who had a big block cougar. After cougar took the lead for maybe 3 seconds before we zipped on by. He kept accelerating. I said that's enough Steve you won. He replied just a minute. My heart started to race. I looked over at the speedometer. It read 142 mph. My entire life flashed before my eyes. Your car is the exact same he had except his had the Hurst t handle and was the popular blue with black stripes.

I've always loved 1970 Chevelles. If I ever hit the lottery, I'll be hunting for a numbers matching black on black, no stripe, no vinyl top 70 SS. Since I'd like to actually drive it rather than setting valve lash every few weeks, I'd probably look for an L-34 or LS-5 car. On the other hand, I don't mind setting valve lash now and then lol! Until I'm rich though, I'll just be happy with the black on black 70 Malibu that my wife and I restored and modified ourselves. While it's not a numbers matching car, it does have a full house small block and can definitely hold its own. I've never even thought about turning it into a "clone" either.

I am freaking blown away . Yeah , I was born just right but most 454 Chevelles were red with black stripes. Your brilliance tells me black with white stripes a four speed and a must have 410 posi tells me that's the model I would desire . Headers ? Argh not me . I truly believe stock forever . I WOULD NOT CHANGE A FUCKING THING. I REALIZE I AM JUST A CARETAKER SUBJECT TO DEATH. The car should roll on after I die . I would put aside the stock tires and buy soft compound drive tires. Have some fun side stepping the clutch for some tirespin . I would have the car for the epic styling with the sheer excitement of being part of history . A big thank you AND a huge hug from one passionate lover of muscle cars to an even bigger one You , sir are one of the best . God bless our country AND you .

A friend of mine bought a early SS 396 i don't remember which engine model but he said it had some aluminum parts, well it was a four speed , and he could not or wouldn't drive it, so I went to retrieve it for him, after a short time , he said please see what it will do , I was a Mopar man, but I'll tell your, it had to be about a 4/11 rear end, it was a beast, it was hairier, than a grizzly bear , in a raccoon coat, it would sqauk the tires from 3rd to 4th year!!!! It revved like a tornado , what a car, we drove it till it was low on gas, his eyes were like cups & saucer's, I'll never forget driving that Chevy, I ended up buying a 454 !!!

Definitely well optioned, rare as hell and extremely well preserved. Someone knew what they had which is almost unheard of. They used to be all over here in Southern Illinois but now I only know of one 70 Chevelle in my area anymore. Guy won’t come off of it,it’s a 350 SS badged car that’s sitting outside on jack stands with one rear drum pulled off and has been that way for about 8 years that I know of. Same guy has a 70 GTO and a 71 GTO one of which is wrecked and sunk in the ground in the front yard. Congrats on your find and making the deal.
