It's crazy! Back in the 1990's we were just introduced to laser printers, now laser printing had been taken to a whole new level! Also sad to hear about the house! I started watching it and had to run help my son with something but will try to finish it later today ;D

Great job on the laser engraving. Glad you started doing laser. My wife has a Embroidery and screen printing business now for 19 years. I started doing all the graphics for 19 years now and started doing 3D graphics for my 4X4 wood CNC, We put a deposit on a 150W Laguna Smartshop Laser MX. Big boy toy. Congratulations.

Cool little hobby that can make money it you hit the right items and find a market. Forget steel even stainless and use some metals like copper and bronze plate that you can get from places like McMaster Carr and then use the patina's they sell thru Sculpt Nouveau out of Calif. Put up a range hood to vent the smoke so come winter you don't lose all your heat. Metal art is a lot of fun but it can cost a lot but it's worth it. Next you'll be pitting up another shed and connecting them to make more space.

All excellent points/tips! I love the range hood idea! I have seen some guys install vacuum systems to their enclosures. Likely once we get a barn up for the tree farm I'll move the laser to that building, lol! It does generate a LOT of smoke!

Great learning tool for two dimensional engraving. Next a 3D metal printer for replacement tractor or cutter/baler parts. Just a program description of item to print up a part. It's coming and will pay for itself in no time.

They upped this technology just recently because of possible needs on Mars and the Lunar landing. They have to make this product as good or better than casts or welded products. @@This1LifeWeLive

Nice looking she shed. Did you do that yourself?
@This1LifeWeLive
@This1LifeWeLive Жыл бұрын
LOL, thankyou! Yes and no. I tried to save time by having a shell custom made for me and finishing the inside myself (I actually have a full playlist of the project). I should have simply done the shell myself as it was NOT made to the specs I had requested and was thrown together. I had requested hardwood which takes longer to rot and it was produced in pine . . . I did go through and apply a protective stain but likely I will have to over-side it in sheet metal to keep it from rotting :(

Would you still recommend this laser engraver ? Or is there a different one you’d rather have? My first one I wasn’t impressed with, which is why I’m asking

So really, it comes down to what you are doing with it. This is hands down the most powerful one I've tested AND on the market. The rotary unit that can be bought separately is less than others AND more advanced (has adjustable tilt). It's also very FAST. However, like all other laser units, it's not user friendly. It takes a bit of work to figure out both in the program and on the machine. So when I had the chance to try out an xTool M1, I was blown away at how stupid easy it was. It came with it's own program (it's not compatible with standard programs), and it was easy for any beginner to figure out, plus it had a camera to make it even easier. I also loved the vinyl cutter for making shirts! HOWEVER . . . it was PAINFULLY slow. To the point of just being a curiosity and anything that could generate a decent income. At only 10 watts of power, it cannot burn through much. So it got me thinking, that perhaps adding a camera to THIS cutter could be a game changer. Lightburn has the ability to pair with a camera and Amazon has plenty for sale under $100. Ultimately I had to PICK ONE to keep, and I kept the 36watt Atezr simply because time is a major issue in my life and I think adding the camera will be just the ticket. Plus the rotary tool options are more in line with what I'd be using it for. I do have the M1 shown in videos around December if you are curious. Doing an engraved bottle took 1.5 hrs . . .

What sized honeycomb is that? I just ordered the laser and currently have a 400mm x 400mm. Thanks
@This1LifeWeLive
@This1LifeWeLive 7 ай бұрын
It's the biggest square one I could find, I think 400x400. So Honestly, I did a review of the xTool M1, and while I was impressed by ALL that it could do, it was PAINFULLY SLOW. To the point of ONLY being for fun as a hobby. I was trying to figure out which laser I wanted to keep (don't need 2), and I ended up sticking with the Atezr 36 watt. AND, Atezr also offers a rotary tool that's able to be angle set, which is a HUGE ungrade from the rotary tool xTool offers (and less expensive). Eventually I'll get a rotary tool AND the encasement cover and exhaust fan, along with a camera. I think it's worth it honestly, not too many on the market offer 36watt AND the ability to cut what this laser can cut. The BIGGEST headache is trying to use Lightburn. But getting a camera (Amazon offers them) is a big time saver, just read reviews and choose one that seems best.

Not blaming the you but, We bought just about every option for this unit but the extension and hood....Were not very happy so far, one of the X rods were not mounted in its socket and would not fit even with the screw out of the socket, had to be hammered in. The unit was scratched up, when I contacted support they said...oh sorry. We paid $1600 for this unit and it seems to have software issues and it will not autofocus and tech support is useless....I really regret buying this unit.
@This1LifeWeLive
@This1LifeWeLive 9 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear you have been having issues with it. The X rod is difficult to get in (I did mention that to the company rep), but the software issues can be caused from needing to update the drivers for the machine, and making sure the correct options are loaded into Light Burn. Try going to the Lightburn forum and explain the software issues you are having. Because Lightburn is a third party software, it can sometimes be tricky to make sure the correct features are loaded in, and then making sure you are choosing the right set-up for your particular laser. They can walk you through what might be going wrong. I had an issue where the machine would slam to the right instead of going home when I clicked "home". It ended up I didn't have the parameters correct. Also check in at the Atezr Facebook group, sometimes customer service on there can get things done more efficiently.
@This1LifeWeLive
@This1LifeWeLive 9 ай бұрын
ok, so looking at the videos you posted, I am seeing a few things. First, for the autofocus to work, you need to focus it on a level surface. It cannot focus on the edge of a surface because it will "tip" the material on your board. Try positoning to laser fully on the material, then click autofocus, then move the laser head into the area you want to cut. Also, I would try using it connected directly to the computer as you will have a wider range of options. I never used much of the display face, but there IS a key area in there that needs to be set-up correctly and that's why you are getting those positioning errors. Go back through the directions step by step slowly. "Auxillary Positioning" is what I didn't setup correctly, and likely that's what might be throughing you off too. In the big manual it's page 3 of 'Setting Part".

Have you tried any of the Facebook forums? I'm sure there is one for Atezr products or laser engraving in general. I had a few issues with mine only to find out it was the settings in Lightburn. It would be nice if they could include a base user program that was straight forward and easy to use. XTool does with their M1 machine, it's a nice software piece and easy to use. However the machine itself is very low powered compared to the L2 Atezr, 10w vs 36w . I have found too many companies don't have good customer service. I had to order new parts for the X1 from XTool and it was a month or more before I got them. They kept neglecting to put my order in. But I would definitely check facebook for a group!

@This1LifeWeLive yes I have but came done to its either the wiring harness or the laser due to when I disconnect the laser it starts to work. I connect the laser and it shuts down instantly.
@This1LifeWeLive
@This1LifeWeLive 14 күн бұрын
It sounds like it's either shorting out (wire coating rubbed off somewhere) or the wires in the harness are incorrectly connected. Can you get them to send out a new harness? I'd look around online and see who sells replacement harnesses, they usually are not much. My M1 machine I gave to a retired friend and they went to clean it and put it back together wrong, so the wiring harness got chopped by the cooling fan. Eventhough customer service was friendly, it still took 2 months to get the part I needed. I looked online and while I found retailers that sold it, all were sold out. Likely someone sells a wiring harness for the L2. I'd give that a shot and see.
@oenway
@oenway 14 күн бұрын
@This1LifeWeLive well I go round and round with them. I sent them a video, and still the same response, we have to send you the parts and that might take a while. It's a short I know it is short, but if it were a real company, I wouldn't have to go in circles just to get something done. But I'm a valued customer according to their emails. SMH. Thank You
