When two communities are in constant conflict and kill each other at every opportunity, a buffer zone becomes essential. Recall the Kuki-Zo wedding party that accidentally entered a Meitei village; they were all killed, including women in their 60s who were not spared by the Meiteis. So, can we say free movement is possible in Meitei areas? Absolutely not. So why complain about the buffer zone being guarded by central forces? The situation on the ground is very different from what is analyzed in a newsroom.

You being a Kuki like the term buffer zone because you know it is a land which you have encroached on. By terming it as buffer zone, you feel you have taken over the land and gets the sense of taking something for free. We Meitei being the indigenous people of Manipur feel the sense of loss of our own land, encroached and exploited. We will never accpet terms like buffer zone. Buffer zone will be made on the other side of Manipur Burma Mizoram boundary.
