@@larsonfamilyhouse In this day and age, it is nearly impossible for a prime suspect in a murder to get away with it. They've followed this guy for 27 years; he hasn't been charged for a reason. Note that he has been fully cooperative the entire time. Furthermore, if he would have gone after her, the last place he would have done so would have been in public outside her car and apartment. After all, she trusted him; he could have lured her some place private. As such, the venue suggests anyone besides him. And why call the studio that morning, if he _had_ done anything to her? Makes no sense. For every reason, the case against Vansice simply doesn't add up. But the YT detectives don't worry about such things.

I always figured it was probably somebody that saw her on TV and became obsessed with her? The parking lot was the only place they found any evidence that something may be wrong? They/he/she obviously wasnt too worried about being recognized (them or their vehicle) by anyone to take her from the parking lot of an apartment complex, which suggests to me they had very little connection to the complex? She had the feeling someone was following her, even took self defense classes? Sounds like a stalker to me?

I think it might have been a serial killer after all they're usually responsible for disappearances of women whose remains are never found and there's no trace or clue's to what happened to them. Jodie isn't the only woman abducted while walking to her car to go to work Jennifer Kesse was also abducted walking to her car to go to work, I'm sure there's multiple cases across America that are very similar over the years, we just don't hear about them as much as we do other case's like the two mentioned. Abducting a person on their way to work gives the abductor a few hours or a whole morning for them to do whatever heinous acts they plan to do, dispose/bury the body, hide their tracks and they're out of state before anybody has reported them missing. You hope all disappearances get resolved and their families and loved ones get the closure they deserve.....

I remember seeing this case on the news in NYC as a child and many years since. I always wondered if it was possible that she interviewed someone who didn’t like her report - meaning maybe she outed someone, and made someone look bad like a convinced criminal who was released from prison, a county official, another public figure, etc.? I wonder if they looked past her “inner circle” and those sex offenders who lived nearby. Did they check her interviews and news anchoring reports to see if they could find anyone that didn’t seem pleased with something she said and may have been angry or out of character on camera? I bet they could cross reference DMV records with people who owned (or had access to) a white truck, and perhaps against the prints/hair they found to see if there’s any potential matches. It’s a needle in a haystack, but I’ve never heard anyone say that the investigators have taken that approach. I also wonder if someone was looking for revenge on one of her family members or friends, and knowing that family member/friend was connected to a public figure made the perp feel like he’d do more harm by going after her instead of the intended target so they’d suffer the rest of their lives without someone he/she cared about? Like did the take the 3rd party target angle? Probably not. Stuff like that has happened, sadly, where a public figure is related to the intended target in some manner - and is held for ransom, injured, killed, raped, or whatever else to get back at the intended target when the public figure had nothing to do with the actual issue at hand between the perp and intended target.

John V. was treated like a rich man might expect to be treated by police. He had no alibi for the time between her abduction and 6am that morning, the interior of Jodi's car was never combed, and items in her kitchen that could have been kept as evidence (and perhaps used as sources of DNA later) were discarded. He seemed neither surprised nor alarmed when she was reported missing, even though he always claimed to have been a very close friend to her. Somehow, nobody has ever confirmed his story that she was at his place the night before her abduction, but some of her neighbors said that she was screaming something that sounded like "No, John! John!" at her front door within an hour or so of her disappearance.

I just started watching this so before I do watch this, I want to put some thought out there. First, isn’t it true that often the perpetrator is someone the victim knows? So was anyone gone for a time that this beautiful lady knew? Second, could she have been taken a long way away from where she was kidnapped. I saw a case where a woman was held in a connection tied up and was ill used by her kidnapper. Private property and dogs used? Now I will watch this as I don’t recall this incident. I live kind of remotely in Alaska, so maybe fresh eyes and ears? Let’s take a look.

Everybody keeps investigating the same people the same things over and over again. Look outside the box. I don't believe there was an investigation into what she knew about the North Iowa drug task force. Why? I've said it a million times. If you really want to get to the bottom of what happened to Jodi start interviewing people that haven't been interviewed.

I hope the lady who said John called is telling the truth because if so then someone was tryin to set John up. That means it was someone who knew about Jodi and John being friends. Did John ever admit to calling? Did the police ever play a recording of John's voice to see if she recognized it? I hope so.
