I’m going to Pinnacles this weekend. It’s my first time going to a NP by myself. I am definitely nervous. I wasn’t planning on going into the caves because I do get a little claustrophobic. Thank you for this video. I think you’ve pushed me into wanting to check them out. Everything looks so beautiful.

I was at Pinnacles last December and there weren't many people. The campground was only about half full. And the weather was really nice.... not too hot, not too cold. There was less water in the bear gulch cave so did not need water shoes. Really enjoyed the hikes there. Condors were actually flying over the campground.

We live in Hollister and the Pinnacles is a special place for us. We announced our engagement there. When our 1st child was young we would go through the caves with my husband carrying her in a backpack! The caves have closed some years because they are a home for bats. And visit in the fall and you are sure to see tarantulas!

Wow, Tish, so many great memories from Pinnacles! It's true, the Bear Gulch Cave closes at certain times of the year for the bats. We were lucky on that front, but unlucky for the high water closure! Thanks so much for watching and hope you'll continue on the journey with us! 👍 - Howard

Oh my gosh! You guys are SOOOOO lucky to see a Condor, let alone a half-dozen of them! They were as close to extinction as you can get about thirty years ago…incredible come back. I can honestly say I was shaking when you guys walked through that cold water…it’s melted snow water! What great experiences there at Pinnacles NP, though. QUESTION: Have you ever slipped and fallen in cold water like that? It’s like I’m saying, “stop filming and pay attention to where you put your feet!” Next week? Oh boy! The Redwoods! You are really going to love that area. Scenery is stunningly gorgeous! Anyway, have fun and be safe! Thank you for bringing me along! Love, Virginia

Claustrophobic is my middle name lol - I am SO glad you gave me a first-hand tour of these caves. Those suspended boulders look like they could come down with just a little push. The only cave system I’ve ever been inside is Mammoth; it definitely lives up to its name. Pinnacles is a beautiful NP with much to see and enjoy. The hiking trails look great. Thanks for sharing!

We were there in between the floods. The Cave was shut down unfortunately. I couldn't make heads or tails from the trail signs lol. Apparently my wife understood them. We would have gone the wrong way if I would have took the lead.

Great video, thanks. I was there in the early 70's with a college class. The "caves" are not true caves, they were formed when many boulders fell and made what it looks like a cave. After watching your video, I'm going to have to go back and explore the area. We live about 1 hour north of the Pinnacles.

So incredible to see a condor - and wow, to see 7 of them! I've been in condor areas a lot and still have not seen one! The caves - we used to go in a lot of caves at The Channel Islands National Park - now they creep the heck out of me. Those hikes are insane - so cool! Love the free-spirited feel of this video :)

It's always nice when they have a special entrance for campers so you don't have to wait in the super long entrance lines. It's amazing how busy the NPs have become. I'm surprised that it's this busy even during the shoulder season! I actually nee a backpack like that! Thanks for sharing the link!!! I'd much rather wear that than the fanny pack I've been wearing. Seriously looking at purchasing this model motorhome (Vista 29NP). Enjoyed your tour of the Winnebago factory and this model, but wondering what your thoughts are now after a few months of driving and living in this motorhome. Any major issues/learnings about the unit? How is it driving and has it impacted significantly how you travel compared to the Class C Navion? What is your average mpg? Thanks for any info you can provide!
