What people need to realize was that rush down was NOT the reason kabal was the best character in the game. It was his rush down PLUS his top 3 zoning PLUS his absolutely broken meter building PLUS having the best armored launcher in the game (in a game with only a handful of armored moves all together). The armored launcher could also be cancelled and used as a flash parry similar to Crystalline tremor in mkx. He also ended every combo in a restand, had fantastic anti airs, best sweep in the game, and ZERO losing matchups. He had no real weaknesses.

Where? you have more options to deal with it and even then the rushdown is more balanced in a sense there's zoning and rushdown not just "forever block" strings

execution isnt a good excuse for having broken char imo since anyone can will eventually be able to do it, and i doubt mastering kabal will take half as much time as easiest char in xrd anyway let alone older games

@@sunthi9619 the skill ceiling was huge for kabal don't underestimate how much it actually took to do his nomad dash cancels and how easy it was to mess up, leaving you completely open for a full combo punish if you messed it up and it was super easy to mess it up

Asamashii yeah i know its hard but gg especially older ones are just that hard, i think there is a char where you have to do something similar to kabal but with multiple half circle motion and optional 3f cancel windows. there are also bunch of needlessly complex things piled up with each version.

I would always do sub zeros 2,2 to interrupt kabals +2 string after the dash cancel. I didn't know frame data back then but when kabals started doing this online i would press buttons in between to see which would counter this lock down because i knew that no one couldn't do this consistently.

this game DOES NOT have reversal. If you have an armor move, you have to time it perfectly at the frame your character recovers from blockstun, you can't input the ex move during the blockstun. Not to mention many characters don't have armors at all

Smoke is not top 5 because he doesn’t have good pressure and gets pressured too easily. That along with he doesn’t have good reversal when he gets pressured. Smoke stays relevant bc of his reset that’s random
