Please tell us more. I have terrible sleep apnea and I’m looking for something outside of the cpap.. just to try out. What was your condition or disposition before the tape? What exactly has it done in terms of quality of sleep?
@beautifulday7528 Жыл бұрын
I use this safely and it has been a game changer! I cut a stip of about 3 inches and cut in 1/2 the long way. So I end up with 2 strips of about 3 inches. I use vaseline just on the lip part the tape will touch. I put it from the bottom of my nose all the way under my chin. That's how I decide how long. I can sneeze, cough, etc. no problem. No more waking up with dry mouth/throat. So happy! That and elevating the head of my bed by 4" to let the nasal area drain has been life changing! Thank you Dr! And, I use extra strength Breathe Right. The combo has been great!

I have found that paper adhesive tape breaks too easy and moisture from the mouth makes it disintegrate. The plastic based tape works better. I have also found shaving at bedtime helps the tape stick better as does cleaning the skin with alcohol to remove the oils. Now if you had a good idea how to prevent from rolling on my back during sleep!

How long does it usually take to build the "nose breathing" habit if you use tape on your mouth every night??
@DentalNowPanorama4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question! It really depends on each person. Some people can catch on quickly and some people may take longer. It really depends on the severity and how long you've been doing this habit. It's a lot harder at night since you're not technically able to monitor your habits. We really appreciate your question, hopefully we've been able to guide you in the right direction!

I have a few questions about oral hygiene. How do you make manual flossing with braces easier? I try the floss threaders and it still takes too long so most of the time I end up using my waterpik instead. Also, what’s the difference between xylitol and fluoride mouth wash? Which is best? Thanks
@DentalNowPanorama4 жыл бұрын
We are actually planning on making a video on the topic of flossing very very soon, so please subscribe to our channel and stay tuned! Thank you so much for these wonderful questions. Regarding the mouthwash question, we will also cover that in a video shortly but it will take a little longer than the timeframe that we will have for a video on the toothpick question. Again, we really really appreciate you commenting and hopefully, we can guide you in the right direction a little bit in the upcoming video.

@DentalNowPanorama3 жыл бұрын
Hello! thank you so much for commenting. we appreciate you commenting. honestly, it's really hard to say without seeing you in person if there are any other concerns, such as crooked teeth or other problems. Our recommendation would be to visit a few dentists and talk to them about this issue and also try the tape for yourself to see if you have any results! As we've mentioned in the video, it's best to make sure that you visit and let your dentist and doctor know before proceeding with any recommendations.

Hi doc today I just got braces I'm 17 and I wanted to know if braces will actually affect my facial shape, before I got braces and this was months ago I used to have a bad habit of chewing my cheeks the sides but ever since I stopped I felt shifting in my teeth and my face seemed to have changed slightly but I can't tell if it's worse of better so now I've gotten braces but my other issue my orthodontists told me I don't need expansion and that i have a good bite but I feel like I do need it, on top of that the teeth feels as if they a pushing my teeth inward instead outward my bite feels off and I don't think they are doing it right what do I do should I stop treatment?

we would highly suggest that you consider getting invisalign instead! your treatment may not be fully complete by the time of your wedding and at least with Invisalign, you can actually take them out and it's not very noticeable at all when you are straightening your teeth. It's a clear plastic solution that is very hard to see. Hopefully this helps!

So I need to stay 8 months without retainer after my braces are removed. That caused my teeth unaligned. So please suggest me should I get braced again??
@DentalNowPanorama3 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thanks for reaching out. We really appreciate it 😊 hopefully we can guide you in the right direction. Your case could actually be a very good option for Invisalign Express. It's very similar to regular Invisalign, the only thing is that it has far less trays. It's usually meant for patients who have minor problems. Once you do get treatment again, you really need to get the retainer and wear it right away. We always stress this aspect because it's so critical for patients to wear it so that they don't risk having their teeth move out of place. Hopefully this answers your question!

For about a week now, I've been training myself to breathe only through my nose during the day so as to avoid using a CPAP. Do you think that mouth taping at night would speed up this process?
@DentalNowPanorama3 жыл бұрын
It really really depends on the person and each individual case. We would suggest that you try it and see the results. Many patients do see a change in their sleep patterns once they tape their mouths. Hopefully, this helps and we would love to find out the results from you! Please make sure that you let your doctor know about this before you do proceed so that they are completely supervising you! Thanks for watching. we really appreciate it.

Many doctors use it in medical institutions. It's also hypoallergenic too! This product is relatively safe, as we mentioned you should still discuss this option with your medical doctor as each patient can differ! Dr. Dhillon and many of our staff members use the product themselves.

From the NexCare Sensitive Skin Tape SLT-1 Regulatory Datasheet from a google search: "To the best of the manufacturer’s knowledge, this product is in compliance with Proposition 65, and reasonably anticipated use of this product will not result in exposure to any Proposition 65 chemicals that would require a Proposition 65 warning."
