They are an MLM company so possibly they end up in thrift when consultants have excess and aren't selling them anymore. Great way to get a bargain.

They are alive again. In Canada and USA. EXCEPT …. Made from crappy PU. What a shame. They won’t last. The shells peel and crack the main bag does the same thing. I’ve written them and said if they ever had a leather line I’d buy. I like luxury leather that lasts no polyurethane that doesn’t that’s why some Chanel bags and pure leather bags last 35 years these don’t last more than a few years unless you’re very very careful where you put them no light no dust no moisture just be very careful.

Remember these bags when they first came out and thought it was amazing ❤❤❤ Never seen them in person especially not in our thrift stores 😕😕 The Ed Hardy one is definitely my favorite of your group for the wild vibe 🤩🤩🤩 and the diamond print is the one I’d carry around for being simple. I haven't seen one of the actual bags in a long time out in the wild. But here in Sk I've seen just shells at our VVs over the years. I thrift my cosplay purces so I'm in that section often. Great score!

Never clicked a link so quick, lol I love your haul videos and comments and descriptions AND I used to be a Miche representative 2011-2016. I actually went into people's houses and demonstrated the purses and shells to sell them. 😅 In case you're interested, there is still Miche Canada operating sales as well as a smaller version of the Miche Bag USA website. The Hope shells were Miche's first charity fundraiser. Profits went to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. The original design had quotes from cancer patients and survivors. Miche redesigned the look every year or so. The one you have is one of my favorites. I still have a big collection of shells, bags, and handles so I am incredibly excited to see you customize them!! Leila (the b&w floral) is really easy to customize. Just use sharpies and treat it like a coloring book!

Miches are great, provided you clean them, treat them, store them correctly. Being faux leather, most of them age and flake off after a while. They use earth magnets which don't affect phones or credit cards. There have been several companies owning the patent and keeping Miche alive after all these years. The current company worked years to bring it back. The old versions had different names for each style AND for each size in that style. These days, it's one name for one style across all sizes. Less confusion and tracking required. Acrylic or Leather paint work for patching issues. I have one so old it needs a full light sand and repaint. Project! the Prima size of the Layla is so durable and has a protected pad insert inside it. A lot of moms use the Prima for a.diaper bag.

I just looked at the website and I REALLY want the Prima size from the Hope collection. My favorite word is Hope, it’s tattooed on me, I love the color pink with hearts and I love supporting breast cancer.

You could do so much with the these. Some of the ones that are damaged you can make them and 90s like Sailor Moon are care bears with mod podge and stickers. Makes me want to go find one.

These are cool they need a backpack version. Painting them too makes them even more ooak. I think if you know how to sew, you could make your own covers for the same bag using one as a pattern. I like the yellow words cuz they're affirmation and my favorite color PS: you can try some Angelus brand leather repair paints to restore that material. Or just some fabric paint and modpodge

Thanks so much for the tips. I had already purchased some leather paints to test out but I definitely want to try angelus repair products because I think I need some quality repair put into these. I finished my first custom already though! It's incredible and I am so in love with it!. I cannot wait for you all to see.

They do have some covers that you can use as backpacks with the prima bag, the biggest style. This video shows the classic size, and then there’s a demi size in the middle, as well as a tiny one (petite, i think?). The prima size is the only one that has backpack options. I have one of them, and I will say it’s not the most comfortable backpack (no padding), but it’s great for going out for dinner, and I think you could add some padding inside (I am thinking of getting a chair pad from the dollar store, cut it to fit and cover it in pretty fabric, then pop it inside on the side that will be against the back). Would also be comfier with some padded straps.

This company started with a lady who spilt something on her bag on her way somewhere, and while trying to get the stain off she thought it would be good if she had a cover to cover the stain with. That led to her creating the Miche bag and covers. This was the first style, she also did a ‘phone bag’ size and a hobo sized slouchy bag. All had the detachable covers. It was always advertised that the magnets wouldn’t harm credit cards or phones. The covers all had names. Eventually she sold the company and the new owners kept it going for a while, not sure if it’s still running. I’ve got my original bag, still in great condition, plus about 10 shells which are in a Miche hanging shell holder which keeps them in good condition.
