DK Danis It’s a matter of your perception of maintenance. The Germans do not have the same definition of maintenance that the Japanese and the Americans do. If you maintain your German car the way the Germans describe it, it will last a long time and cost you many times the price of the vehicle in maintenance costs. The Japanese, especially Honda and Toyota, create engines that require extremely small amounts of maintenance to reach the same mileage. The Americans build cars that are very cheap and disposable, drive them until the wheels come off and get another one cheaply. That is precisely the difference between the design and maintenance philosophies.

Daniel G. Interesting, I was asking BMW what the life of my glow plugs are and when I should replace them, that Diesel engine in my G30 doesn’t have them... I was confused

I think you are seeing the grinding pattern there due to the angle of filming. Even still if it were a blemish, that doesnt mean it wouldve reached a completed state without correcting that or even discarding that engine and remelting it.

What is weird is that the BMW dealership in Perth Western Australia stated that the 5er LCI would not be coming out in a Diesel? Is this true, I like the diesels and wanted to upgrade my 2018 G30 5er to the LCI 5er. Its just because I'm cranking out 200km per day and they are super efficient.

Why BMW puts the timing belt at the back of the engine ... While most or all cars put the timing belt at the front of the engine so that maintenance is easy and fast and without the need to remove the engine completely from its place. !!
