Welcome to 🇨🇦!!! I just want to say that I loved your Juno, Alaska videos (made me hungry lol). The drone footage in this video of the lake is stunning and shows truly pristine Canadian Wilderness. Also loved the underwater footage at 10:04 of the trout after (and striking) your lure. I live in Ottawa, Ontario but definitely plan to look into living off the grid in the not too distant future. Love fishing, love the outdoors and love your videos. Keep ‘em coming!!!

beautiful fish being caught. The issue regarding consuming fresh water trout as sashimi is indeed about parasites.For an ever better taste remove the blood from the ribs. Always great to see people ea†ing the skin and not being fussy about bones. I once served fresh salmon steaks at a dinner for 8. One of the guests removed the skin. She also picked through the flesh and was freaked out about the bones leaving more than 80% of the delicious flesh on her plate. The other 6 guests left not a morsel except for the remaining bones.

I make spinners. You want them deep BUT you want them to spin well. Narrower bodies with narrower blades will get you deeper where the bigger fish are. I must admit...I envy the spot. No fishing pressure and loaded with trout. Can't find anything like that here in Wisconsin.

All rivers, streams, and some lakes in B.C. require the use of single barbless hooks. If you buy a lure or spoon that has a treble hook you can easily replace the treble with a single hook, and pinch the barb flat on any hook.

Parasites should be a concern too. Every living creature in the wild is prone to them, including insects. While you can see some of the mature worms, you can not see the tiny immature ones or their tiny, tiny eggs. Parasites can make you very sick and it can last months. It’s best to put the meat into a deep freezer for a couple weeks before eating it raw.
