Very beautiful work under the hood Would you mind showing people the correct way to charge these up? I do have instructions and deal with a lot of these but now I see why people buying them from me are going to turn around and blow it up and then look at me crazy do not charge off of a battery if you just got this Use a maintainer low amp and you can strap a voltmeter onto that super bank while charging it. The idea is to pull away voltage slow charge as possible percolated and that charge means the most. I made mine stretch out over a two hour period and today it rips 15 three steadythree years later

Love the video but I’m just wondering switching from a car battery to a super cap bank, how does that improve the electrical system?
@NextLevelCarAudio
@NextLevelCarAudio 3 жыл бұрын
First: Caps have considerable faster discharge/recharge rates than an AGM making it perfect for hard hitting bass. Second: since there is no conventional battery (lead acid, AGM,etc) I can run everything together with no isolators and no issues. Thats how it is now better for my application.

I going to run dual alternator. One is the factory and the other is a 370 amp. If running the way that you are how do you keep the voltage from dropping due to the PCM control the voltage output. I’m just now seeing this video and I just wanted to tell you that your installation is sweet. I just got a 04 Suburban a couple of months ago for my very first attempt at a real system. I have already gotten a dual alternator bracket for it as well as a Taramps Smart Bass 5K amp and a Sundown Audio NSV4 D2 18. Unfortunately my house burned down and my wife and I lost everything including our dog in the fire. That being said I have had to put my plans on hold for now until we can get everything back on track again. I’m looking forward to getting two of the Mechman Elite 400 amp alternators and some lithium batteries to power everything as well as some more subs and I would love to have a SALT 8 or maybe even a SALT 12 to pull as much power from the alternators and batteries as possible. I would love to get your input on what you think would help me build something truly epic for my first real system. Thanks for making these videos and sharing your knowledge with everyone.

Which i see you have your 0g from both alt and 1 0g ground from each alt to battery negative so would you do a 0g from the super cap bank to your frame? Or would all that be done off the lithium bank in the rear?

I'm running the SB 500 super cap in my truck and love it. I had been told it was always best to have the super cap as close to the amps as possible, but that the battery was not "as critical". Any reason your not running the lithium up front, and the super cap closer to your amps ? honestly, I don't think "either" really prefer to be located in a hot engine bay... Any way you could move both of those to the back ???

The way I see it is if one of the biggest names in the car audio power game (xs power) makes under hood Supercap battery replacements. They know what they are doing. I’ve watched your other video on how to measure resistance and voltage drop. I’m seeing very minimal voltage drop between my battery and amps. However, after measuring the resistance of my ground points I decided to measure the resistance from battery positive post to the distribution block in the rear of my vehicle and it was about 5 ohms. Can you explain what level of resistance you should have on the positive run to the back of the car. I’ve used 0 gauge. I plan on doing a big upgrade pretty soon, so I’m just curious about what level of resistance I should be looking for.

Back again with another question for you brother. (You led me to bassahaulics last time). Am I able to add a lithium battery as a secondary to my main AGM that is in the engine bay. (Lithium will be in rear near amps). So the real question is can I mix AGM and Lithium? Thanks in advance!
@NextLevelCarAudio
@NextLevelCarAudio 3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, but most all manufacturers will tell you to run an isolator. There are different types of lithium. And some more important than others to isolate. LTO is required, LifeP04 is recommended, etc. I ditched my AGM and now run pure lithium and super caps. Could not be happier

First of all, great content. You make great videos. Second, what do you think about mixing XS Power 14volt batteries with limitless super caps? I will probably do groups of 6 at 2.7 volts each on the caps and I’m running a 270 Mechman with adjustable voltage. I was thinking of mixing in 3 or 4 of the 14 volt as I have 7 of these already. Thank you sir.

For sure, most don’t do it tho. However it is necessary with unibody cars. But in my case, even tho I can go to frame. I still get less voltage drop with a direct run.
