On the hand Ronaldinho hit his prime at the perfect time: - He was the best player of the world when FIFA turned 100 years in 2004 and 2005 - He won the 50th Ballon D'or ever - He won the Champions League on the 50th anniversary of the competition being one of the main players I think Ronaldinho was the player of THE generation but only achieved half of what he was supposed to do, while Neymar had Messi and Cristiano so it was almost impossible to be number 1.

Bro I agree with you to a degree, it’s not like Ronaldinho was the only world class player of his generation though and Neymar has never carried a team outside of Brazil, so I really don’t think Messi and Ronaldo were his only problem.

You're right, I would say Ronaldinho stood out with his brilliance and exciting plays. But he also was the only player in the 2000s who was best player in the world twice. Neymar maybe could've succeeded over Messi and Cristiano after 2018 if he wasn't injured because he was truly amazing around that time.

I love Ronnie...yet no one had? Djalminha, Okocha, to name absolute malabarists mavericks with similar approach and then you had Legends like Rivelino or Ronnie's idol Maradona (perhaps the ultimate showman on veery sense, not just the fun side). This without entering the more assertive type of players, with less inclination for the playfull and more focus on scoring and assiting like the extraordinary Zico and of course The genius Pele....people sometimes goes to far with Ronaldinho, as much as I love him and more when even in his own time still was R9, that even being more assertive and more serious in his end product, he was still fantastic. There have been always players with Ronnie's approach in the history of the game, from Garrincha, to Sivori, Corbatta etc...anyway, The Gaucho was such an enjoyable player and fella too, this is not a pun at him AT ALL.

The club got it's old spirit back, the supporters had a hero and Ronaldinho became the ace of Barcelona eventually helping them winning matches and trophies. So club legacy is definitely Ronaldinho.. He's probably the 2nd greatest and most important player in Barca history only behind Messi himself. Neymar came when Barcelona already had a player like Messi and the team was pretty good too. Neymar was for sure very impactful for Barcelona but not as much as Ronaldinho was.. Country wise I'd say Neymar is more impactful for Brasil than Dinho but Dinho was still the living embodiment of "the beautiful game"

You are comparing players from totally different eras who did not play against common opponents, especially defenders. Thus you comparing their stats is totally irrelevant and proved absolutely nothing whatsoever. The only way reasonably that one can compare players from totally different eras is via their eye test. Even that has to be done, so with considerations to various different factors, such as pitch conditions, technology that is more advanced versus less advanced, etc, where some players, especially modern players, may look better due to the advanced technology helping them more

Neymar is the best talent of his generation, period. He really should have been that guy. Ronaldinho was simply exceptional and I think the fact that Brazil has produced so many talents sort of puts them at a disadvantage when compared to the rest of the world. The fact that they tried to equate Maradona to Pele, when Pele was way out of his league shows the gap between Brazilian players and the rest. You still have players like Romario, Kaka, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Cafu, Roberto Carlos etc...These are greats who are easily forgotten because there's always some new talent ready to take over when they leave.
