That's their attempt to make game not too easy but they don't do it right. If there's like a +30 disparity between sparring ratings (route running vs zone/man coverage, tackle vs break tackle, run block vs block shedding etc) the winner should win that rep every time and have that dominance drop off proportionally. It's so hard to make the game just hard enough and just easy enough.
