He first of all kept resisting versus just doing what the cop wanted. Then he made the egregious error of going back in his vehicle giving the cop no other choice but to pull his firearm. If he would have shot Breeland he gets off easy because of the resistance and him going back in the vehicle would be said as the cop thought he went back in to get a weapon which has happened many times to police officers. My only problem with the officer is that he was too passive early on (possibly due to him being a little guy). Once he started getting resistance from Breeland being cuffed he should have taken him to the ground. Judging from what's here, I'd imagine that early on the officer could have played things better. Nothing wrong with arresting Breeland for his actions here, but I think a better cop could have handled this in a smoother manner from the jump.

I can't believe this didn't turn out different. Remember that just because they're pulling out the cuffs doesn't always mean you're under arrest. Sometimes they will detain you for your safety and theirs while they investigate the situation. They should tell you this though. This cop was more than patient. The cop was actually VERY patient and civil, and did an excellent job of showing restraint in not being on a power trip or trigger happy like some cops these days. Yes, there is racial profiling in our country. Yes, we have police brutality. But this was neither racial profiling nor police brutality. If I was that cop, thin and lean, with an uncooperative angry man standing 5-6 inches taller than me, I would have been nervous, especially when the dude got back into his car because that is when you don't know if the dude maybe reaching for a gun. Breeland once tweeted on Feb 29, "Keep thuggin till u can’t thug no more lol". And on Feb 21, he tweeted, "It’s Friday I ain’t got no job I ain’t got ish to do !!!!" Welp, today is also Friday, and it look like he still ain't got no job after Andy gets through with him!!!!

minto smith, get your facts straight - that was not just a security guard. The POLICE pulled up in marked police cars that said "Sheriff" on the cars. The COP was wearing a vest that says "Sheriff" and you can see that in the video. And Breeland was arrested by the York County deputy. According to an incident report from the York County Sheriff’s Office, Breeland was one of three men observed by a deputy smoking marijuana near the gas station just south of the North Carolina state line. All three attempted to leave the scene when the officer drove up in his marked vehicle, and two complied when told to return. Not shown in this video, but on the police report, was that Breeland initially pushed the officer, who then pulled out his Taser. When Breeland got back in his car, only then did the officer pull out his firearm because he could not see Breeland's hands. Even during the arrest, the officer did not roughly twist Breeland's arm around and pin him to the ground the way that some overreacting police do during arrests. I give the cop an A+ grade for professionalism.
