I can see why there were so many questions about him coming out of college. The arm talent was definitely there but the question was whether his reckless style of play would translate to the NFL. Reminded me a lot of Johnny Manziel (and I do not mean this in a good way). Unlike Manziel, Patrick Mahomes found a way to control that reckless nature. He still makes wild throws, but he's such a precise and intelligent passer that he only throws the crazy pass when he knows he can hit it. It's like watching a younger Aaron Rodgers out there. No doubt that he's the best QB in the currently, and the Chiefs have to be feeling extremely fortunate that this man fell right in their hands.

They never actually broke down his situation. Just glad Veach actually did his homework. 41 TDS 5000 yards broke the NCAA record for yards in a season. Had a game where he had to throw the ball 88 fricking times man. No average person would even think about doing that let alone have the arm to do so & still only threw 10 ints considering how he had to comeback most games & throw the ball down the field

several years ago I showed these highlights to my young football palying cousin who knows I'm a chicago fan. First comment after seeing Mahomes commege film: How did the bears not take this huy? It's still a good question.

As a bears fan I still come back here wondering how the bears drafted Mitchell trubisky over mahomes just watching him torch everyone. 😢

Jakeem Grant, who was Mahomes’ main receiver played for the Bears for a bit too. Would’ve been cool to see these guys play together at the next level. If you get a chance look up Grant’s college highlights.

Growing up in Nebraska as a Chiefs fan and Husker fan, Texas Tech always kinda scared me. Back when Nebraska was dominant, I vividly remember one autumn 2001 night when Kliff Kingsbury and Texas Tech put a scare in us by dropping 31 points in Lincoln but ultimately our Huskers won 41-31. Having casually watched some Mahomes in college, I figured he was probably a product of the Air Raid system stemming from the Mike Leach days. When Reid and KC drafted him, I had zero idea he'd be this good. I merely thought, "Huh. Well, I guess Reid sees something he can work with. But we'll see I suppose."
