Won’t happen lol… it’s been an issue for a decade and the reason is because people find ways to score « glitch » goals within the first weeks/months of the game release… just another washed up addition to the game that will be « changed/improved » next year again. Same thing with the improved interception and improved passing. Go watch older year gameplay trailers… I think these were a main addition in nhl 20/21/22😂😂😂 i know I’m 2022 they added improved passing interception! such a joke

From the clip you can still see the stupid goals you can score on the goalies. The in tight backhand that somehow squeezes in short side is still there. It says the goalies have over 300 animations. I literally seem like 2 new ones and the rest seem like old ones from previous years. I’m not holding my breath on this game.

Would like to see updates to story mode in "Be a Pro" as well as allowing for realistic contract negotiations. Banner/award/retirement ceremonies would be a great dimension to add. The creation zone is really outdated and needs new player appearance options, more equipment manufacturers, as well as a custom mask creator for goalies.

The pass assist might be the biggest pain point I had. Playing couch co-op trying to setup plays with the D and just having the back pass split through them down to your own end when it should be the easiest play was frustrating. It's like the game wasn't designed for full team set plays with overhead camera...which it probably isn't but that's hockey.

What kind of updates is franchise mode getting? The ability to have and build new rivalries? They should have a way to reference things that happened is previous games ie a fight or injury the last time you played a certain team or deeper stats that show which players light certain teams up or don’t do well against others etc

Personally I just want NHL to stop the yearly releases and just act as a live service hockey game for years to come, adding content, fixing bugs and improving gameplay over time. Please allow fighting is 3v3 Clubs, as well as allow an option to change player loadouts between periods. Maybe an option to select a goaltender and AI 3rd man as well before the game begins. Maybe an option to wear Street clothes as a club. Possibly make it so certain hockey bags are rewarded for milestones rather than be completely random. Or maybe a points system where you can save up points to buy items for your player/ club. Just thoughts. Love the gameplay improvements, I just love EASHL and hope it gets the improvements it needs.

When I heard they were adding strategies I actually got excited but then of course it's only on the powerplay and penalty kill, how ridiculous. Give more than the same old options that haven't changed for years, give people the option to customize their offense and/or defense or at least have 10+ strategies so you can change it up. It's irritating to hear they are going back to heavy pass assisting, people not being able to make pinpoint super hard passes non stop was the best part of 22 when it released but then they patched it immediately because you can't upset the arcade players I guess. Then they increased puck carrier speed? The last thing this game needs is more speed, it already plays way faster than NHL hockey especially in HUT.

I'd like to see them implement coach challenges. Especially in GM modes. Sometimes the calls for offsides and goalie interference are dicey. Adds more authenticity to the game I know they are reviewed by the refs automatically but to try and overrule a play would be huge and add to the engagement. NBA games have started to implement it for their latest games. Can't wait for NHL to start

@@centralhockey12 to fix the dss boost is okay... but to slow you down, as a hockey player, not really. It will hinder your stop/go and some agility since your weight is offset, but in terms of speed, it doesn't affect that much.

I know it won’t be much, I’m sort of exited just to see what new dekes, goalie maneuvers, some of the new last chance goals, and some franchise mode features (if we get any). I won’t get my hopes up because I know it’s EA, but you never know, I could be genuinely surprised.

Franchise mode is actually gonna get a big update. They aren’t showing it off in this trailers it’s coming in a trailer next month though!!

Playing the technical test and going through the advancements and features for this year, I think this will be the first year I skip buying NHL. The skating feels slower and clunkier. There's hardly any real improvements overall to the game. Nothing for franchise or Be A Pro. This is at best a mid season patch, not a $99 new game. The skating in Astros Playroom was so much better and felt more realistic than 23 does. I'm not an EA hater and I'm not usually one to bash the new year when we don't get everything on the wishlist but this just feels like less than half of the improvements we typically get. Also, I wish we could go back to having release date before the preseason and training camps so hockey fans could get excited about the return of hockey. Having it release when the regular season starts just means I'm going to be watching live hockey instead of playing video games.

great additions but when players fall, they get back up wayyyy too quickly. Hopefully they slow down the ability to get back up.

I agree 100%. That has literally been so broken for years. Defeats the purpose of having body checking, if the players get up almost instantly and just regain possession of the puck.

I love how the puck magnetizes itself to the stick and when the player shoots there is hardly any motion, yet it flies off their stick. It's so unrealistic. Every year it's the same

As much as I love the NHL games I've been disappointed in the seemingly less inspired graphical upgrades over the last few years. Even though I own a Series X I have yet to be wowed by the game. Not saying the games haven't been fun, but I'm ready to be blown away by now. 😢

Same, it doesn't seem like any of the major sports titles have taken advantage of the tech, and usually they're the first titles on new consoles to show what they are capable of, it's been disappointing so far. FIFA 22 was genuinely ugly.
