I cant understand why Sharks trade Hertl and not Granlund/Hoffman/Labanc. Yes, they can’t retain, but come on man, expiring deals, get atleast something for them.

Many teams dont have cap room right now but the knights did because stone got hurt. Hertl's contract didnt help the sharks win or rebuild. I would want Hertl if I was the knights or gran only.

I thought the fact that they got 6 years worth on contract retained. Love it or hate it, you gotta respect a great GM at work. You cant even get teams to retain on a contract that long in Franchise mode without paying triple or quadruple the amount of value.

The owners voted and only 2 of them voted to make LTIR more strict. What Vegas is doing is perfectly within the rules and the owners don't want to change it, so it won't be changed. Every single team has the opportunity to do what Vegas is doing. Vegas just uses the tools given to them, better than the rest.
