NHL All-Star Game Was An ABSOLUTE JOKE

The worst part of the skills competition to me was the way it was sequenced. For example, not doing the breakaway challenge from start to finish and instead doing one at a time in between other events. Or how they had the first round of accuracy shooting, and then the second round took place after they did some other events. They kept going back and forth between events and it felt disjointed, and it also allowed them to run more ads. Completing one event from start to finish before moving to the next one would’ve made the live viewing experience much better.

I'm so glad to see someone with the exact same thoughts as me. I love seeing the real skills competitions. The accuracy and hardest shot were great, although I didn't enjoy the multiple rounds of the accuracy competition. Anyone who is lactose intolerant would have hated the rest, because it was waaaaay too cheesy. 🧀

I hadn't watched an All-Star game in about 25 years and after this one I won't be watching another any time in the foreseeable future. To me it was basically the equivalent of guys screwing around after practice and not very entertaining. I'm old enough to have watched the Gretzky/Lemieux era All-Star games live and while there was a dearth of defensive play even back then at least it looked like a hockey game.

A big problem with me that I had about it was the sequence. It just felt so random and hodgepodge together like there was absolutely no flow to it. I understand them trying to bring in the elements of the location but like you said it can sometimes seem too cheesy. I started watching the skills competition but after a while, I got bored and turned it off, didn't even bother watching the actual game. I also thought that it took forever to get any of the competitions actually started. The golf thing to me was absolutely horrible, when I think of Florida I don't think of golf. I did think though that Sid and Ovi's breakaway bit was very cute, honestly, I thought the rest were meh. I mean the Miami Vice one was just bad and I give Pasta credit for doing well with the Happy Gilmore reference.

Everything about All-Star weekend is a joke. The only event that wasn’t was fastest skater. Since McDavid stopped going all-out, it’s a joke too.

Hockey as a whole is just like … idk the word but everyone is such a follower and it’s very very tribal. All sports and things are like this but hockey is just above and beyond bad. If you don’t say the slang and quote Dumb and Dumber 5x a day and love golf you just won’t fit it or be accepted in the hockey community. I know that cuz I’m kind of a social leper because of that lol. I hate golf I don’t care about dumb and dumber and it’s just like….that’s one reason why hockey will never grow cuz everything is so stagnant. Even the players there so many sons and cousins and stuff it’s just. A small town on a grand scale. If you’re not from the small town and you don’t look or act like them they’ll never accept you fully. And I’m not talking about race necessarily I mean in general.

Was not a fan of this at all, felt like a bunch of seniors in public school messing around in the gymnasium and the principal was going to come in at anytime and give them all detention.... All is good and well but the NHL should be embarrassed for charging people money to watch that... And I'm also not a fan of bringing the kids out onto the ice... if you want to skating with your kids then go for a public skate, don't be selfish and make the fans watch that crap just because you want a nice memory for you and your kid...

I'm strictly into hockey. Outside of the Olympics I don't really get into other sports 😏

Never watched it and probably never will. Imo opinion it is pointless, and I dont understand why americans in generally are so into these kind of events/jippos like this 🤔 But thats just may be a prejudice by me. I’m from Sweden 🇸🇪 btw.
