Actually the goal in 9:52 got the Canucks past the first round in 2011.

The speed of a slapshot is indeed comparable to a fastball. During the NHL all-star skills competitions, you'll see them in the 100-107ish mph range

Take a look at the shot count on the clip starting at 4:37. Yeah, the Flames won that game and the series, but the real star of the game was Jake Oettinger, Dallas's Goalie.

There is one major omission from this list. It happened on May 7, 2019. Pat Maroon of the St. Louis Blues scored a goal in double OT in game 7 against the Dallas Stars to advance the Blues to the Western Conference Finals. I was at the game and I thought the roof was going to come off the Enterprise Center. Maroon was from St. Louis and did something that he probably dreamt of as a kid.

Washington's commentator went so nuts over that goal because they'd finally made it past the second round of the playoffs, after years of getting eliminated there, usually by the Penguins.

The San Jose Sharks one that was 4-4 in OT was nuts because they were down 0-3, came back to get the lead only to get it tied up at the end of the 3rd. Then scored the OT winner. All of these are based on context, so it's kinda hard to watch without. Also a lot of the overlays in the top left say the series (first to 4 wins) so, that means it's in the playoffs.

@@sharky_luv Haha! Definitely a hell of game in the ECF! Both teams were exhausted! I'm wondering how they will recover for tonight! Don't sleep on the canes... The last regular season game we played ya'll we beat you 6-1!!! I really can't hate on the Panthers that much because I'm close friends with Jordan Stahl and both of his brothers play for Florida so I've met them a couple times... All very nice guys! Maybe you guys will get a cup? We've been there and done that!
