90% of the goals had nothing to do with poor goaltending but great shots (especially tip goals - incredibly difficult to stop a tipped puck), poor defense and too many power play opportunities.

Gotta feel for Soderblom on that last goal.. wins haven’t come easy for him and I just hope and pray he can find his confidence again. He’s not a bad goalie but the team hasn’t really figured out how to win with him.. I’m having a hard time accepting hawks are playing to end last for two seasons in a row (although they missed it by a point last year) didn’t think this was the plan..

Pretty surprised that a lot of people are blaming the Hawks goaltender for this loss when almost all of the goals scored are going to go in even against the best goaltenders in the league. Defense needs to be in better position to block the shot and/or tie up the players to prevent tips on shots.

The puck has to by five other players before it gets to the goaltender.. it’s bad enough to lay the responsibility on one guy in a ridiculous shootout but to blame him for this is a cop out. Remember, he’s the only guy on the ice for all 60 ( 65, 70) minutes during a game while the others get a break!

The refs gave several crazy calls against the hawks in the third, almost felt like they took it on themselves to make the game exciting for Christmas and the home crowd.. Blues played the same line for almost the entire third period 🙈🙏 it’s bad enough to give up a 5-2 lead in about five minutes.. but the last goal shows where the goalie’s confidence is at. If they actually care about his development he probably needs a break from nhl hockey.. just my estimate, but it has been pretty bad for a while now.
