This kid just single-handedly dragged the worst team in the league to victory against the best. Gets the first goal off of recovering his own rebound 4 times in a row and then gets the OT goal essentially solo with his teammates seemingly not even crossing into the offensive zone let alone doing anything to shield the jets. Amazing. I’m on board the Bedard train after this.

Even when the Hawks are the worst team in the league the fans are still some of the best.. some fan bases don’t deserve a good hockey team and can’t fill out half an arena and then the Hawks fans pack the United centre every game. They deserve a better team and hopefully with Bedard to build around they become one of the best again, those Stanley cup runs from 2010 to 2015 were some of the best series I’ve ever watched.

You could see that Hellebuyck cheated to his right after Bedard pulled the puck in and then Bedard shot it in glove side. Look at his stance just before the puck goes in. His center of mass is leaning to the stick side and he had to reach back to his left with outstretched leg and glove. Bedard fooled him with the pull and drag play.

We must have been watching a different game… Bedard, rookie yes but he can’t play offensive defensive to save him from the errors he makes when he doesn’t have the puck. The entire 1st period went to Winnipeg bc not only were they outplaying Chicago but the puck possession time for the first 20 minutes was highly in their favor. Chicago, couldn’t figure out who to guard, who to spot, they were not moving their feet… it was like a shooting gallery the entire game. Peter, saved their asses tonight. Big time. By most goalies, it would have ended 5-1 loss to Chicago.

That’s why the Hawks are genuinely the worst team in the league right now? It’ll take a good few season before they improve to a level where they can consistently get the best out of Bedard, they need to build around him like they did with Toews and Kane.. Toews was the centre point of everything good about that amazing Hawks team, he was a generational talent and change a dying franchise into arguably the best nhl team of all time.. and before you get onto me about saying that.. emphasis on the word ARGUABLY, those runs from 2010 to 2015 were absolutely special, if the hawks and careful and bring in the right players they’ll become a team that can at least compete for playoff spots in the next few years then hopefully push for a Stanley cup run

I guess I’m just frustrated that we are watching Mcdavid ruin his god damn career being in Edmonton after 8 seasons and no cup and now Bedard, is going to be held to that same fate. There are players on the former Chicago team and Carolina hurricanes team who have won 3 Stanley cups, considered champions 3 times and I don’t even know their f… names and neither do you. That’s sad. I don’t want Bedard going through what Mcdavid is going through. Edmonton won’t even make the playoffs this season 😩
