The age of the Pens roster really showed. They looked much slower than the Rangers and it was evident on the shorthanded goal. Letang gets beat in the foot race to the puck that he had a decent angle on and has nothing in the tank on the back check.

5:47 Cuylle's pass to Chytil was 100% a pass. It was a drop pass with a fake shot. It's actually a fairly common play. Just another way to distract the goalie and make him flinch. I know first hand.

Absolutely brutal. The Pens were good enough to make the playoffs last year, and they just took too long to kick it into high gear. I was optimistic for this season, but this game makes it look like they’re not in the same league as teams that are legitimately contending for the Cup. It’s one game, and everyone gets beat down sometimes, but yikes… this could end up being a LOOOONG season.

6:32 Kakko needs to find a new move on the breakaway. He does this way too much and not for nothing but the forehand, backhand shot is one of the easiest and most predictable breakaways to stop as a goalie. The only way you're even going to have a chance on that move is if you're 10 times faster and roof it top corner..... Or slide it 5 hole as the goalie is dropping down.
