Patrick Roy has to be top 2, if not number 1. He's the only player at any position to win 3 Conn Smythe trophies in 3 different decades.
@reyjusuf4 жыл бұрын
Roy's 3 Conn Smythe and 4 Stanley Cups are better than Hasek's 2 Harts and 2 Stanley Cups. Legends are made in the playoffs, not in the regular season.
@bradleyhenry24113 жыл бұрын
Cups is a team award. Roy's 3 Conn Smythes & 3 Vezinas vs Hasek's 2 Harts, 2 Lester Pearsons, & 6 Vezinas... and you'd still choose Roy?
@bradleyhenry24113 жыл бұрын
@Murphy Habs I acknowledge that Roy revolutionized the position, but Hasek literally carried the Sabres to playoff positions hence the 2 Harts and Lester Pearson's. Also carried Czech to a gold on olympics. He has the best goalie stats too. Roy has pretty much always had the better team in front of him, so he's never really had to carried.
@bradleyhenry24113 жыл бұрын
@Murphy Habs both 86 and 93 Habs teams were better than any Sabres team Hasek had though. Everyone agrees those Sabres teams weren't playoff teams without Hasek. Hasek even came into the league late and still put up monster stats.

Jacques Plante should be first not only did he changed the game he had an unbeleivable career and was good in 2 era also few people remember that Jacques Plante first game comeback after a 2 year retirement was vs the Soviets for a Canadian team made of Montreal Juniors and a couple of NHL players. they beat the Soviets 2 to 1 Plante was simply miraculous in that game stopping 3 consecutive breakaways in the final minutes.

Great list... though I think I'd rate a few lower (eg. Barrasso, Osgood, etc.) simply because they were great because of their team. For instance, Barrasso had a whole plethora of hall of famers in front of him, from Lemieux and Jagr, to Francis and more.

Eventough i am a oilers fan i got to say Kiprusoff should have been higher. He was so underrated and I think the biggest reason why he was so low on this list is because he didnt win a cup.

Brodeur doesn't even belong in the top 5. He played a long time, which is why he has great stats, but he rarely had any real shots against him. He has some of the lowest shots against of any goalie. He played behind one of the best defensive systems of all time. Not to say he wasn't great, he was. But he is not a top 5 goalie.

@@lucarossi8913 Brodeur is a legend definitely top 10 probably even top 5, but he only faced 40+ shots 31 times in his career which is only ranked 40th.No disrespect but, Brodeur benefited from a good defense and his stats were high because of a long career.
