I don’t think he ever got in the ball. It was found above the Falls, caught on some rocks, intact and still zipped up. It’s possible the wind caught it and he and the other man couldn’t hang onto it.

[09/06/20] At the bottom of the American Falls are tons of rocks and boulders...no soft landings there. Did Jones exit the ball before the edge? Without knowing how those balls are constructed it's difficult to see how he could get ejected, unless the impact of the ball against the rocks at the bottom of the falls created a jolt sufficient enough to eject him. All very strange. No one has ever survived a fall on the American side...there is a reason for that...
