We stumbled upon the power station by accident a couple of months ago, and it's just as impressive as the video suggests. The power station was a great start to our Niagara Falls experience. Be sure to take the guided tour because the docents are very knowledgeable and will enhance the quality of your visit.

Thank you for the video. I've been to Niagara Falls several times and never went to the Power Station or Tunnel. I always thought if you seen one plant you seen them all. But this one looks cool with all the red stone bricks and brass/cooper/steel machines. You are correct about the tourist trap. In Niagara you can spend $500 a day (per adult) just on attractions and museums

Thanks for all the Niagara videos. I am heading there for a week in September and your videos have been most helpful. The power station is definitely on my list now. :)

We went there on Wednesday 12 July. You can collect a poncho at the tunnel exit and the museum is a great experience, tons of history.

Thanks for a great video! I have a Nikon z5 full frame 28-70mm lens, what lens/filter should I use so take a good quality video in the tunnel which is dark?
@glasbo Жыл бұрын
Definitely use the brightest lens you have. f2.8 or f1.8 or f1.4 lens would be ideal. I actually shot this with my Sony a7iv and the 16-35 pz f/4. But the a7iv is amazing in low light so the image looks super clean even at higher iso. I also under exposed by about 0.7 to 1 stop to try and keep the iso down. I would also recommend using a GoPro or your phone for shooting on when you get to the end of the tunnel. You’ll for sure get some water on your Nikon at the outdoor viewing platform. Thanks for the comment and have a great time!

The real attraction happens at night with the interactive lightshow in the station itself. Take the tour in the evening instead.

Niagara Falls a tourist trap? This has been known for decades, not just recently.
@glasbo Жыл бұрын
Yep. But it was ranked as one of the worst in the world in a recent 2023 report which I reference in the video.

The name of the game is Gouge, the tourist. Tourist trap. Hidden taxes on everything.
