I have one along with holster and matching pump rifle but mine also have extra screw in barrels to shoot round ball corks. Nice to see others still enjoy to prizes of their youth.

Nice little pistol in good shape to be half a century old.Had to laugh when you talked about the BBs bouncing back. I picked up an Umarex Brodax BB Co2 revolver a couple of weeks ago & of course on first cartridge wasn't sure how many good shots I would get before power started declining. After about 50 the BBs started bouncing back. Large front sight but accurate once you get it dialed in & fun to shoot. Don't have to spend a fortune to enjoy shooting air guns. Good video.

I have one of those. I’m an old guy. Was a little kid in the 1950’s. My much older brother had one of those. As I grew up and began to shoot BB guns, the pistol was passed down to me. It saw an enormous amount of abuse. I have been an off and on air gun shooter and recently ran across the 177 in a box of my old childhood stuff. I have decided to try and rebuild it. The rear sight is missing. It has a nail in place of the pin in the rear of the slide. It has another nail in place of the pin above the trigger. And the plastic grip on the right side is warped. But all the parts, except for the pins, are there. I need to figure out where to get a rear sight, the pins and seals and see if I can get it back to working.

You sure got a nice example there. These are pretty common here in the US at least, but condition is always the issue. Most often the grips are badly warped when I see them for sale. They're common on Ebay, but often priced much higher than they should be for what they are and the 20+ year production run.

Spin the muzzle a 1/4 turn and load the bb’s in the port under the barrel

Real nice. Here in Canada D&L Airguns has about 15 of these for sale by Crossman. I'll put a link in the comments in case you want to look.

@@WalnutandSteel Oh oh. Now you're in trouble, ha. They had a Crosman Challenger CH2000 CO2 version which I have wanted for years but could never find one in Canada. I just saw it yesterday and bought it today. I like your type of airguns not PCP. It is ironic that the first airguns ever made and used by Lewis and Clark were PCP'S and how we came back to the original design. Take care.

I was wondering if you could help me out a bit. I would like to build an all wood BB gun like the first daisy but I can find nothing more than a brief mention of it on utube. Can you or one of your viewers point me in a good direction for information. I would be great full. Thanks

I have one of these I acquired with a leather holster but I don't know what ammo it is supposed to shoot. Is it regular BBs or small calibre plastic airsoft ammo?
@WalnutandSteel2 жыл бұрын
If its a model 177 then it uses standard bb’s

@@WalnutandSteel I have some lightweight plastic 4.5mm BBs from ASG which might work OK. You have inspired me to take a look at it.

I really enjoyed your video. I have my dad's Daisy 177! I have great memories of him using his empty Tiparillo cigar boxes for his target. It would be dangling from the ceiling in his workshop. Unfortunately, it does not shoot anymore. Do you repair them? Thank you, Karen

@WalnutandSteel Жыл бұрын
There is a loading port on the bottom of the muzzle. Rotate the barrel to open the port. To oil it I put a drop or two of oil down the barrel to oil it

Hey I have a few awesome old BB guns 3 Benjamin franklins one in original box and two that need some work and also a lever action daisy if I’m not mistaken that taken apart that needs some work. I’m a antique collector/dealer and just picked up a clean one of these target specials for the collection. My question is would you be interested in repairing maybe the lever action. I have more stuff than money per usual but was just curious. Thanks.

I don't recommend putting a half a 327 spring in them though it's very hard to cock it but and it only makes them about like a stock red Ryder prolly a little slower but it's fun anyway lol

Cut you a 7/64 air tube in it will make it pretty fast I did but you got to cut some off the air tube plus I put a part of a 327 hp spring in mine but it just made it hard to cock it I believe it's faster now I just got the over bored air tube and regular daisy red Ryder half spring in it now and it shoots the best now it ever shot pretty fast to
@kevanhubbard96732 жыл бұрын
I think that that one was the weakest one they did?I had a black revolver lookalike,sort of Peacemaker type thing, and it wasn't even an air pistol it used a spring to fling the BB's out but it's velocity was higher than yours!I saw the one you have in Daisy's information leaflet and those low velocities are roughly as I recall what was advertised.
@terrybest89732 жыл бұрын
Hey that one is exactly like mine I put a half a 327 spring and 7/64 air tube in it my wife has the 118: model and a 799 hawhtorn model in 177 the 118 shoots tiny bbs though mine is a 177 to but it's a little meaner
@terrybest89732 жыл бұрын
You got to shorten the tube to I just cut it same as the factory tube works great but you will look like lou friggno in a year of cocking it lol you know incredible hulk like that just shooting a bb pistol 😂😆
